Louisville -9 +100 1st half

Well the cardinals are coming off a bad outing in which they got rolled by cross-state rival Kentucky. Pitino was very upset about the lackluster performance and it will show up today IMO. The cards return 2 starters from the team that made a run to the Final 4 last season. G Taquan Dean 14.4 ppg 4.0rpg last season has been very impressive so far leading the way for this promising squad. F Juan Palacios the other returning starter 9.7 ppg 6.5 rpg a season ago will provide the cards with the inside presence needed for dean to be effective from the outside. This duo will be the inside/outside punch that will make the cards a team to fear coming down the stretch. C David padgett who transfer from Kansas has played great so far when he doesn't get into foul trouble but has given the cards a 3rd scoring option and another anchor in the frontcourt. G's Brandon Jenkins, Andre Mcgee and F's Brian Johnson, Terrence Williams round up the rest of the young quad that goes 9-10 deep. The cards are 6-0 at home this season and will be playing the 1st game of the Billy Minardi Classic, the tournament dedicated to Pitino's brother who past away on 911. He will have this team focus and playing in memory of his brother and IMO after the worst shooting performance of the season this offense will come out to kill......

MTSU comes in to this game with a 5-2 record but 2-2 on the road, having lost to Indiana state in overtime and to Utah state by 18. MTSU comes into this season in a re-building mode having lost 4 starters and 3 out of the team 4 top scorers a season ago. The load will be on the shoulders of G Marcus Morrison 8.7 ppg 4.7 rpg this season and G Fats Cuyler 14.4 ppg 2.9 rpg. This duo provides over 60% of the teams scoring and will be guarded by Taquan Dean and Brandon jenkins and IMO they will not be able to go off as usual due to the sofocating Cards defense. This is IMO the key to this game and as long as the cards are able to contained the 2 guards they will blow out MTSU by 20+ points here. The cards hold the edge on ppg, fg%, defense, rebounding, turnovers and are by far a much deeper team than MTSU...............

Louisville 90 MTSU 64

Appalachian State +4 -110

ASU is coming into this season returning 3 starters from the team that won 12 out of last 16 games of the season and finished 18-12 a year ago. They will missed Noah brown as he was a team leader and a standout in the backcourt but G's DJ Thompson and Nathan Cranford should be able to fill the void nicely with DD scoring this season. F's Jeremy Clayton and DM Williams provide enough offense inside to make the guards very effective. G Demetrius scott rounds up the starting 5 and has provided this team with a nice perimeter shot. ASU will be counting as well on its defense to carry them this season after finishing in the top 20 in steals last season........

Arkansas LR is another team in rebuilding mode as they return NO STARTERS from the team that finished 18-10 a season ago. HC Steve shields has done a great job rebuilding this program but IMO this season will be his biggest test by far. G's Zach wright, Deandre Eggins, Elijah Muldrow and Buddy Harding lead the backcourt producing around 29 ppg while F's RJ Jennings and Lekheytan malone have done an outstanding job in the paint. This team still very young and will plague with rookie mistakes and turnovers all year long.......This teams met already this season at ASU and the result was as expected ASU won the game by 10 pts and IMO we will see more of the same today as ASU holds the advantage in ppg, fg%, ft% and IMO is just the better team, so i will gladly take the points......

ASU 82 MTSU 76

Colorado -7.5 -110

Wow this is a matchup of 2 teams headed in opposite directions. Colorado is returning all 5 starters from the 14-16 team of a season ago. C Julius Ashby will be out until January after having academic problems but the team is still loaded with talent and the 6-1 start is already making heads turn. The only loss for the buffaloes this season was on the road vs cross state rival CSU and they lost that game by 1 pt and they should have won it. F's Richard roby 16.0 ppg 4.8 rpg and chris copeland 11.7 ppg 5.6 rpg a season ago are the primary forces in the frontcourt and a very hard duo to deal with. G's Dominique Coleman, Marcus Hall and Jayson Obazuaye provide great perimeter shooting and a very explosive offense. This team has shot so well early on this season that they are avg. over 80 ppg while only allowing 65 ppg..... that 15 ppg difference its what got this team going in the right direction.....

TCU on the other hand comes into this game with a 3-6 record but after looking into it the 3 wins have come vs Jackson State, texas arlington, and Arkansas pine-Bluff while the 6 losses come vs all division 1 teams......The frogs only return 2 starters from the 21-14 team of a season ago and only G Nile Murry score DD last season. the frogs have struggled mightily shooting 36% from the field while allowing opponents to shoot over 45% and that will not cut it this season......The buffaloes are just clearly the better team and thaey hold the edge on every single facet of this game, ppg, fg%, ft%, defense, rebounding, turnovers...you name it and they do it better........colorado should roll here vs a bad TCU team........

Colorado 88 TCU 72

Colorado State -4 -107

Another game with 2 teams headed on opposite directions. The rams come in to this season with 3 returning starters and already have a 7-1 record with the only loss a 4pt hard breaking match up on the road vs kansas State. The rams are lead by F's Jason Smith 10.5 ppg 5.8 rpg a season ago and much improved F Michael Harrison. In the backcourt they lead with g's Michael morris and Sean morris who are having excellent campaigns this season. Juco transfer G Corey Lewis has provided quality play at the PG position and has been a great addition to the team. The rams will be looking to extend the record to 8-1 here today as they make the path to a most probable NCAA bid.......This team has benn so terrific early on that is shooting over 45% from the field and only allowing opponents to shoot 36% from the field and playing a very bad team at the moment that task should be able to continue.....

On the other hand W.Michigan comes in with a 2-4 record and the only 2 wins vs Norwood, and Indiana-Purdue while the 4 losses have been vs all division 1 teams. The broncos return only 2 starters from the 20-13 team of a season ago and have struggle to adjust to the new line up. The offense has is shooting 39% from the field while the defense is so horrendous that they are giving up over 47% from the field. If they do that today they will have no chance at keeping this game close and IMO the rams defense will keep the broncos offense in check all day long.....The rams are just the better team here so i feel the need to back up the team with the advantage on ppg, fg%, ft%, rebounding, turnovers and defense........just too much for the young bronco team to handle......

Colorado state 78 W.Michigan 71

Sacramento state -13 -110
Sacramento state -7 -110 1st half

Will do this write up as I wait for Fade4Six to come in and add to it as he is very good when it comes to his alma matter....This is as much a play on Sac St as is against Cal poly Slo.......Sacramento state comes into this season with 4 retuning starters from a 12-16 team of a year ago but also return G/F Jason Harris 17.5 ppg 4.6 rpg a yaer ago and who is the best player in the Big sky conference. This team is already 4-0 at home and has a nice win on the road vs a good San francisco team. Harris will be joined by G DeShawn Freeman a dd scorer and newcomer Clark Woods who has been phenomenal in his first season.....The frontcourt is led by F's Alex Bausley 10.4 ppg 5.3 rpg a season ago and its only getting better. In addition sacramento state is avg. over 85 ppg at home which will be plenty of points to win this one easily....

Cal Poly slo comes into this game witha 0-3 road record and playing very poorly away from home and although they have played 3 decent teams on the road so far they have gotten blown out in each game. The mustangs return 3 starters from a season ago but will be getting a lot of minutes from a promising freshman recruiting class this season. They are young and will go thru the pains of growing together. IMO it will take this team sometime to gel and get going..........I will take again the better team here with the advantage on every offensive category, defense, rebounding and with a deeper and more experience roster......

Sacramento state 79 Cal poly Slo 61

Will also have small plays on LaSalle, Pacific, and Old Dominion....
