Nice observation, Hedge. What exactly was only done to the democrats yesterday? Believe the only candidate actually elected to a position WAS a democrat, so good luck with your "win." Unless of course if you mean one democrat beating another democrat in a primary - there, we did see some democrat losses...:mj07:

Yesterday did certainly seem to be a wakeup call for the status quo on both sides. Incumbents seem to be getting the heat, which I think is a good thing. It's nice to see people paying attention (whether it's for the right reasons, that's another story), and hopefully some long-term politicians will have to produce something other than status quo.

When people in each state decide that it's more important to challenge themselves and candidates to do more than just bring home as much as they can for their state, we might have some real change in this country.

I do think there will be plenty of Obama and dem majority dislike play out in the mid-terms, probably a pretty good number going back to the Repubs. That's a normal thing in mid-terms, but probably will be more prevalent this time.

I'd call last night a draw, for the two main parties - neither a good thing. I think Kentucky's selection of Rand Paul sends a message to mainstream Republicans - the poster boy McConnell supporting the opponent says a lot about the public view against current pols. The selection of the traditional democrat in PA instead of the turncoat Specter does look bad for Obama, but good for the traditional democratic party - as Sestak is a pretty normal democrat.

Chad, I am just having fun, I am so glad this country may be getting their heads out of their asses, its refreshing, November 2nd cant get here fast enough, we will take back the Senate and the House, then its time to play ball, hard ball that is. nothing more gets passed. I dont think Obama has a snowballs chance in hell of winning in 2012, I will be :0002 and :mj06: in November 2012, I am starting to see daylight...

DTB, I see you are stuck on Matt Drudge. My take is much different than yours. Joe Sestaak didn't "get killed" by Arlen Spector, but finally put him out to pasture.

Democrats got the most favorable possible matchup in Kentucky, with solid Democrat Jack Conway edging homophobic Conservative Dem Dan Mongiardo, and Rand Paul infuriating the state GOP establishment ? enough to stay home? ? by beating their golden boy Trey Grayson. Bill Halter not only forced Blanche Lincoln to a runoff, he came within 6,000 votes of beating her outright, and will be IMO favored to win on June 8.

In the biggest bellweather race of the night, Mark Critz thrashed Tim Burns in PA-12, and will replace the late Jack Murtha in PA-12. I'm not all that excited about Critz, another bluedog. As a liberal progressive, I was as pleased as one can be.

Well said KC>

DTB is just copying the links Drudge has up.

I also find it funny that they are celebrating Rand Paul's victory when most of the neo cons on this forum never gave Ron Paul any second look when he was running for prez a year ago.

Also Rand has a huge uphill climb to win the senate race against the democrat. I did hear that early poll numbers put him further behind than the other republican Grayson.

You guys can celebrate all these meaningless "wins".

The true test will come down the road, I still think the tea baggers may end up splitting your party come the actual elections.
