Here's what I'm playing for the day:
OVER 9 St. Louis +105 (4 units) (BestBet)
Florida -110 (2 units)
Arizona -150 (2 units)
Alot of angles pointing to the Over in the St.Louis-Milwaukee game:
First of all both pitchers have been struggling of late..they are a combined 0-6 their last 3 starts with high era's of 7.27 and 6.06 allowing an average combined total of 26.7 runners to reach base per nine innings.
Secondly, they don't fair very well vs these teams....Wright is 1-6 lifetime vs the Cards and Hermanson is not much better, going 1-4 lifetime vs the Brewers.
Home Plate Ump Mike Reilly has a small strikezone and this is gonna hurt both pitchers bigtime tonight. Although Reilly's homeplate record would suggest he's an under Ump...this is not the case. He allows an average of 7.81 Walks per game which is considered high for the league.
Wright likes to nibble at the corners and won't get much help tonight. St. Louis should have plenty of runners on base all night.
But the reason I'm not playing St. Louis, but rather the over in this situation is because Hermanson get's no help tonight either. This guy is notorious the past couple of years for giving up the home run ball and if he gets squeezed by the ump at all tonight, he's gonna have to come with the heat vs. the Brew crew...who we all know can hit the fastball. Hermanson has given up something like 9 Long Balls his last 5 starts.
