Tuesday's plays.......

YTD : 1-1 -1.2 UNITS

Chicago at Florida. Youngster Beckett goes against veteran Lieber. Will take the fish who are usually tough at home coming back from yesterday's loss. Look for a pitcher's dual in a pitcher friendly park. Lieber should provide a quality start so if the fish are to win, Beckett must pitch well....indicating strong correlation between the fish and the under. Also -- look how the youngsters from the Astros have done in their initial starts. Pretty good. Will DEFINITELY take the chance that Beckett performs well, the fish get a couple early, and they hold on to win a low scoring close one.

ASTROS/REDS

Oswalt has been nails. Stros offense has been anemic. Last week Oswalt was pretty much unhittable at Enron. Look for the same today at Cinergy. Parlay ASTROS and the UNDER in a what I would call 50/50 play today.

Seattle/Oak/Under/Under

4 team parlay. This was the play last night. Take a late night risk and sleep easy. Almost played it last night and Zito and Garcia are on the hill tonight. Seattle's offense has fallen asleep so look for them to get 4 or 5 at best. Oakland is facing Jason Johnson, Baltimore's most consistent starter, and they haven't exactly been potent lately either. If Garcia and Zito keep doing what they have been doing against these mediocre lineups, look to score a relatively easy 4 teamer.....

TEXAS/UNDER

The Rangers dogs at home against the Twinkies? Milton has pitched well, yes, but the Rangers are playing better lately and look for the Twins lineup to be anemic again tonight as I see Milton doing okay but unable to get any run support. This one is worth the play.

Straight Bet

Take the White sox -- give the run and a half with Beurle....should be at least a 3 run game in game 1 of doubleheader.

Hit the nail on the head with Beurle. Cinci's poor defense gave the stros early runs but Oswalt is cruising. Looks like the OVER will hit and parlay will be a loser. Like the chances of the Cubs/Marlins parlay.

Last night I dropped on the second game of the double header. Here is a pick:
2nd game of DH: Sox -- give the run and a half. Look for another blowout. Sean Lowe does well when he spot starts. Especially against inferior offenses. White Sox think that they can still make up deficit to Indians so they should be more up for this game. Two Plays: WHITE SOX money line -150 and WHITE SOX -1.5 (+135)

My plays today and commentary.

Chi/Fla: Just missed this one. If Lieber could have pitched mediocrely (okay that is not a word but oh well) I would have hit this one. Think I had the right play but near miss.

Houston/Under: This was a strong play. The Houston offense got a lot of popcorn hits. They could have scored a lot more runs but couldn't get a two out hit to save their life. This again shows signs that their offense STILL is struggling. Bear this in mind. The Cincinnati defense, if it would have been decent, should have only allowed 3 runs....4 at most. Oswalt was again tough....expect this gamer to keep his nearly unhittable stuff until we see otherwise. His confidence is high, and for a rookie, this is huge. Won this play, but barely did so.

4 Team parlay -- looks to be struggling. This is I think a one out of three or four play, but should be played cuz odds give us 6 to 1 payout.

TEXAS/UNDER This game in part makes up for the Lieber disaster. Minnesota's bullpen has been trash lately. No serviceable closer. My under/over total was right at 11 so I squeeked out an underdog win.

White Sox In my view, this was the best bet of the day. Yes in hindsight, it is easy to say that, but I was pretty forceful in my earlier comments pregame as you will see. The White Sox may play well this next week as I see them trying to put a surge together. Look for the offense to score some runs and some OVERS when Beurhle is not on the mound. Lowe may pitch well for a while but after a few starts he begins to come inconsistent as was evident earlier this year.

Had a very favorable day today. Laid some money on Zito and the run line but looks like I am gonna lose more on the Angels.....not a good bet but was talked into it. The Royals are too inconsistent and seem to have the Angel's number.......
