This thread produced a lot of valuable information and insight yesterday, so I decided to start it again. Let's hear what you're thinking about tonight's matchups, the 8 new series beginning today, and teams in general. I'll get it started with these five thoughts:

*Now that San Diego finally lost a tough game (6-5 in 10 innings last night), I'm seriously considering betting the same amount against the Padres every night for the rest of the month or longer. I'm telling you, a long losing streak is right around the corner!

*The Nats and Cubs begin play today. Perhaps playing the dog in each game of the series will produce a nice profit. I mean, are you honestly going to lay chalk with either of these teams?

*The Dodgers are hot! Ride them while you can. It won't last long.

*I believe the Mets are a very good team this year. We're getting ready to find out just how good they are. The Mets begin a series in St. Louis tonight.

*Baltimore is terrible! Even Leo Mazzone can't work his magic with these gas cans.

i will lay -15 on the cards at home any day of the week...the mets are good, not great and they have yet to play a team anywhere close to the caliber of st louis.

houston has been icy freakin cold as of late...3 for last 10...this young kid roddy has been a nice surprise for the stros...jamey wright isnt a world beater by any stretch and i love the stros to right their ship at home today against the gmen

i think AZ is a nice home dog tonight against peavy...more of a go against the hot padres than anything

i will play both west coast home teams tonight with cheap prices hoping to do no worse than a split...Ana and Oak

Agree with both of ya re: Peavey and the Padres.... I'm all over the Snakes tonight.... :)


...not a bad idea W&W re: the series between the cubbies and the nats.... I've already played the nats tonight and will keep that in mind as the series progresses.... ;)


Please someone talk me out of playing fawking Balt tonight.... :scared

Peavy had 13 K's in his last start and his ERA is 1.29 last 3 starts while El Dudu has looked like crap all year. I'd be very careful taking a small number with such a crappy pitcher.

Royals have 5 of their 10 wins against Cleveland this season.

I think you have to take the Phillies as dogs since they have won 13 of 14 games.

The Yanks under has been a good play lately. I don't think the oddsmakers are considering how much offense NY is missing with injuries. Not to mention Arod struggling a bit with runners in scoring position, or lack of consistent base runners when he is hitting. They're bottom is not that good, and that is even more evident when they are missing some of their studs.

Still their totals always seem to be set at 9+, although that could be due to mediocre pitching, it seems the Yanks are considered bombers, even though they aren't.

Toronto seems to be a good team flying under the radar. They seem to always play hard, and are especially money makers when they are coming off of a loss.

I agree on the post yesterday about Anaheim. Their bullpen is as good as it gets, and it's only a matter of time before their starters are pitching like Lackey has been.

Like the short price on the Brewers with Capuano on the mound

The Brewers are 5-8 in May, but are trying to win for the third time in four games behind Chris Capuano (4-3, 2.83). The left-hander has recorded a quality start in each of his eight outings - allowing no more than three earned runs while working at least six innings each time out - but lost both of his starts in a six-game West Coast trip.

Upon further review jamey wright most certainly is not a world beater and definately not an Astro beater

Veteran Jamey Wright (3-3, 4.28) looks for his first career win over the Astros when he takes the mound for the Giants on Tuesday.

The right-hander is 0-12 with a 7.35 ERA in 17 appearances, including 16 starts, against the Astros. Seven of those losses have come in Houston, including five at Minute Maid Park.

let me start by saying I tend to be a contrarian bettor. That said, I really like the OVER in tonight's Yankees/Rangers game.I am not going to list all the reasons here (there are several), but ask yourself this: the Yankees have had 5 unders in a row, and the Rangers have gone under in 3 of their last 4. The Yanks are missing Sheff and Matsui and now Giambi tweaked his neck last night. You have two pitchers going tonight who both are 4-1, with ERA's in the mid-3's. Koronka is going on an extra days rest, and Chacon has awesome career numbers against the Rangers. Yet, the line is set at 10 ??? The public is all over the under in this one. Not me. As I said, I have numerous other reasons why I like the over, but this one is one of my biggest reasons.

Yanks get into the Strangers pen early tonight, Koronka has good stuff but he has only beaten the Angels and Mariners on the road. This game could get ugly, I don't care who is out of the Yankees line up tonight. Personally I am on the Yankees RL so I am kind of bias I guess but yeah I concur, total looks too easy and I thnk the side is the play with New York.

Yanks have a struggling ARod, Jeter, and Giambi is questionable. Sure New York can win, but the price doesn't reflect their injuries. Texas is 11-5 on the road and I like their chances tonight.

Chacon has only been less than -200 twice this year at home, -131 vs. Boston and -161 vs. Baltimore. I would agree that the Rangers have a good chance tonight but would argue that the price on the Yankees is not accurate. Good luck with your play though.
