I just had a thought pop into my head. Yes, it does happen once in a while, and sometimes it's even an intelligent thought...

Thanksgiving games are this Thursday. I know Detroit and Dallas have a bit of an advantage in these games since they host them every year and are used to the routine. But what about the teams they play, in the games they are in this weekend? In other words, what effect will this have on New England and Washington, playing Minny and St Louis this weekend?

Obviously both of these teams have had to devote at least ~some~ time this week to their game next week, because time will be so limited to prepare for next Thursday. Tuesday is an off day for all NFL teams (by rule, players cannot be told to report for work on a Tuesday). So NE and Wash just have basically Mon and Wed to get ready, and they will travel for part of Wed. Both the Pats and the Skins could be a little unfocused for the game at hand maybe?

I know this is a stretch since it would be awkward to look up, but I'm wondering if anyone has the ATS records for the Thanksgiving road teams in their games immediately proceeding the Thanksgiving game.

Thanks in advance to any help that can be offered!

I think thats a great point. Especially when you look at Detroit and Dallas, those are not 2 good football teams. You know playing them you have a good chance at picking up a "W". Looking at Washington, they have complete opposite teams to prepare for; the pass-happy Rams and then the passing-challenged Cowboys. I wouldn't be shocked to see both of these teams not cover this weekend.

Wish I had Lem Bankers reasoning for playing the Skins. The Dallas game is the one Spurrier and the Redskins are after. I will be on my guys on Turkey day.
