I'm a dog lover, have a 95lb Boxer who is my best friend and I go to the dog park several times a week. I grew up around Pits and always loved them but never saw the bad side. I do agree it's about bad dog owners and not the dog but here's where things have changed for me and how I liken it to my friends I have as I've gotten older.

When I was in high school and college I didn't mind friends that were loose cannons and when they lost it were uncontrollable. I enjoyed getting crazy and it just didn't phase me to have friends around that would get to points where you couldn't control them. Now that I'm in my early 40s I've reduced people like that in my life because it only leads to bad things for me.

Although I love all dogs, all dogs weren't created the same. I've had to break up quite a few dog fights and most of the time you're able to break them up. In the past few years I've had to stop two fights that included Pits and I couldn't do it.(this is at the dog park so resources are limited) I think of them as the friends I've had that when they get angry there is just no stopping them and usually things turn out a lot worse than when I'm with friends that although they may get angry you can settle them down and thus reduce the chances of everyone getting in trouble. Pits are good dogs but if by chance that flip does switch the consequences are much worse than when a Lab or whatever dog you want to say flips the switch. It's just not worth the risk at this point. I will also say that the two times I tried to stop fights with Pits they weren't the dogs who started it. The problem isn't always the starting but what they do to finish.

Hopefully I've made sense because I don't have time to proof read.

I've broken up far more dog fights between pekingese, poms, chihuahuas, maltese, boxers, cane corso, Shepherds, labs, than I have between Staffordshire terriers. Mixed breeds are the most often involved by a large margin. Then again I just work with them several times a week so what do I know.

My chihuahuas love to fight with any dogs, large or small. They take their turns because I have three of them :)

I just laugh because I know they aren't going to hurt anyone and I also try to avoid it but sometimes they'll go right through their body collar/leashes.

Exactly my point. I understand that the "pittie" breeds are bigger and stronger therefore, in the wrong hands, harder to control. This woman told her dogs to attack and without fail, many called for their heads without regard to the situation and circumstances. Too many believe that the dogs are inherently aggressive because they look like a pit bull
