Taking Two Towers and laying the chalk. I am a dog player by nature, but TT could break 9 figures on opening weekend, I certainly dont see Star Trek doing 60+. Is there even much of a buzz around it anymore?

Anyway laying $230/$200 on Two Towers minus the $30M

acehistr8,

How high are you thinking Lord of the Rings Two Towers will go for 5 days?

Keep in mind I could be jaded because I love the movies so much, but I see 110-115 as a possibility. The buzz around this movie is huge. I bought tickets three weeks ago for opening night at what I think is the best theater to see premiers, and already the weekend is starting to sell out at many local theaters. We are talking pre-sales have caused some shows to ALREADY be sold out.

Will the buzz carry over all weekend? Personally yes I think it will.

I think your bet is a no-brainer. I am currently with no books that take movie bets, but I see Two Towers covering both of these lines. This movie is mroe anticipated than Harry Potter II. I can't wait to see it, and you can count on my $16 (force the old lady to go, too) for the over.;)

According to boxofficemojo.com, Nemesis only managed to clear $20M this weekend. I see Two Towers decemating this number.

You can go ahead and spend this money if you would like.

Does your first weekend of Two Towers include Wednesday and Thursday? If so, this is not going to be close. If not, that's why the line was so low. It should still easily clear $50M this weekend, though.

ace--you got mine and my friend's money twice. He told me the wrong name of the theater, and I bought tickets on-line to avoid the hassle. When we got there, obviously the tickets weren't. Had to buy two more. Anything to help the cause. It was sold out in three different theaters last night in Atlanta.

You can bank this one.
