LSU will miss him the most on returning punts. He was exposed in BCS Championship game.
Just don't understand these kids. And maybe that's it. They're just kids... but he could have helped lead LSU to another SEC Championship and possible riches in the NFL. Granted, if he has the talent, someone at the next level will take a chance but Jack you nailed it... selfish indeed and major props to the Hat for making the right call. Couldn't have been easy... or maybe it was.

He forced turnovers and sacked qbs, plus, as you mentioned, changed field position as a returner.

While at lsu, Saban swept pot issues under the rug unless he was trying to cull that player based on football ability. Damian James is the only NFL caliber player to be disciplined for marijuana during Nick's time here. That was only because campus police busted him, so it was on public record.
I am glad that Miles has changed the philosophy of the program to some degree in that regard. That said, I do know that TM tested positive on at least 4 occasions, so seems that he was given some preferential treatment since Miles' pot rule is 3 strikes and you're out.
