I like to watch Tyson fights. Kind of like train wrecks, car crashes, and bumper stickers I get guilty pleasure by looking and examining them. Like the ladder I only watch the fight if it is free. I like to go to Eddie's (Local Sports Bar), drink a few and watch it with the crowd. I would never pay to see such debauchery any more than I would pay to read someone?s bumper.

I understand that the Tyson fight is cancelled because he has the Flu or that his facial tattoo hasn't healed yet. (SIDE NOTE: IF SOMEONE HAS A PIC OF HIS FACE TATTOO PLEASE POST). I am saddened by the cancellation. Tyson fights are only a mild distraction but there is no way one can argue that Boxing is not a sport.

Well, maybe on this site. The previous 20 posts before this are:

1-on plane tix
5-on politics, Iraq, Flags, Saudi Arabia, etc.
1-on HMOs
1-on reincarnation
3-on Joe Millionaire & The Bachelor
1-on handguns
1-on roller coasters
2-on Hormones and Gender
2-about snow
3- vaguely about sports (ESPN?s home page, Peerless Price, & Wondering about Ace)

3 out of 20. To be honest 2 of those are a stretch.

I?m not saying that all to be discussed is players, coaches, scores, and such but c?mon guys help me out here. Some of the oddity is fun. I have participated in some of these threads. But %85 fluff is too much.

No one (except me) has said anything about NFL free agents or draft, NHL?s positioning for the playoffs, Tuna in Dallas, Tyson, spring training in baseball, NBA trade deadline, Hell discuss the America?s Cup. At this point I?d be happy to read about NASCAR.

As I understand. The ?Handicapping sections? are just that. They are for lines, spreads and discussions about gambling. The General Board (This one) is for the other subjects.

I know that we are going to war. I know taxes suck. I know it snowed?a lot. I can watch CNN or FOX NEWS with the rest of the mindless tube-heads. Please guys can we talk sports? At least a little?

I used to love Boxing but really find it hard to get into now. Not enough personalities anymore. King really ruined the sport. It is a shame because it is one of the best things going when it's being run fairly.

May I humbly disagree with your stance on this matter:

General Discussion
Discussions about everything else and Non-Handicapping Issues.

I would take that to mean that the General Discussion forum is open to debate pretty much anything that is on your mind. The post about handguns was mine and I got some REALLY valuable information from the replies, and those replies came from real people with real experience, not some web site or magazine that has to conform to the advertisers or contributors. Most Forums around the web (while I admit are garbage) allow non-sports issues to be discussed in the General threads. I visit only a couple forums these days and they don't allow things to get out of hand, but a spirited debate on world issues is not out of line.

penguin-I was not making fun of anyone. I wasn't demeaning anyone. I did not want to start an arguement with someone about the lack of sports here in the general mailbox. Primarily if I were to enter an arguement I would be doing the exact same thing I was complaining about.

I just wanted to encourage a little more Sports an a little less everything else.

SO, in that vain start a post and tell me if your Penguins will be around in three years? The way things are going you might be the last generation in Pitt. to enjoy the pens.

OR, Stay here and reply, what do you think about Tyson. Do you watch his fights? Are you a Boxing fan?

Humbly yours -Blazer

Hey Blazer first of all thanks for accepting my demand that you change your avatar. However, if the sex ape and myself and others want to talk about handguns THEN WE WILL DO SO AND WE DON'T NEED ANY COMMENTS FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY!!!!

I am also a trainwreck Tyson fan. While I am a small fan of boxing, it is hard to consider what Tyson has done in recent years to be boxing, more like a freak show, but it sells tickets. Perhaps he could perform between periods of Penguin games to boost ticket sales and I won't be the last generation to see them, though I am painfully aware that you may be correct.

I am guilty of paying the pay-per-view fees to see Tyson fight, actually I buy almost all the major prize fights, so I contribute to the madness and can only blame myself I suppose, but dollar for dollar he is worth the entertainment value.

pens and pettyness

Pen fan-Thanks dude. It's good to see that I'm not alone.:D

Petty Pete- nothing makes me feel better than seeing you disagree with me. If you are on the other side I know I must be correct. Thank you for validating my arguement.

So, what do you think about Tyson? :)

sorry blaze had some things i had to do last nigt. all facts

he was sick with flu last week treated by dr. ramin etebar in bed most of week except where he got a tribel type tattoo around the left eye which he got here last week at well never mind but i know the place they have 2 shops do good work. but needs 3 weeks to heal and take right owner said.

he trained yesterday and the day before road work and bag work he said last night the fight is on, finkel said he does not know if he is ready but it would go on.

his trainer a very respect person in the sport is upset and for a good reason frieddie roach has a stable of nice fighters whom he turned over the last 3.5 months to his asst's and if this fight does not go he will not see apenny that is the fight game plain and simple he said he knew going in about mike and this would be his biggest challenge ever but he choose to take it he also said there would be a meeting tues at 11 with the camp and his people to see if he would stay with mike if fight wash a wash, would say no because he lost 3.5 months of his job and no pay and like i said he has a fine stable of fighters. as a person he said he has seen the good in mike and the bad over all he likes mike but business is business.

finkel said fight will go last night and etinne says he will not fight but finkel said he has 4 lambs lined up that will but the kicker is the tenn board and the tattoo is it safe and will they give the ok but we already know the will they took the fight last time.

it is another messed up mike tyson story his compound is in need of some up keep it's huge he lives about 1.5 miles from lanny and i and people on his street have been upset with some of the things that go on laste at night and trust me they are richer then mike on that street. wayne n. diana ross a prince who has held slaves. huey lewis and 2 other middle east princes along with glades knight and aronald also have homes there. can't see many because most have 15 foot walls around them and long drive ways you can see some through big steel gates.

showtime needs this fight so i say it goes. but mike is messed up at times and nice as can be at others he really does give a lot out here would love to see him get on track as a person have spoke to him 3-4 times out and about and even at sunset park very nice remembers names and really does go out of way to be nice to all then he shorts out and i can relate to that is is not funny its said and hard to over come , imo till he stays on meds for life he will have ups and downs i have found that out. but as a person you hear the bad everywhere but if you were out here and saw and spoke to him you can also see the good. is he perfect no-way but he is not a monster either personal veiw.

fletch the madman

Fletch,

Dude great inside info. but can you please slow down a little. I can hardly understand what you are trying to type. Thank you for posting.

The fight will go on and the local word out of Tenn. is Mike has been "like a box of choclates". Memphis is a sh-t hole and deserves this. They have a flock of doctors in line to say Mike is heathly enought to fight in exchange for poorly selling ring side seats.

As stated earlier, I will not pay for this but like the rest of us I will be watching.

he is a manic depression person and thats not easy to deal with if he is not on meds for it. Even going back to his Robin Givens days you could see it in the interviews that he did then.

fletcher

Just wondering. If the fight does go on. Is there any way in hell that he could lose to this Entiemme guy ? Shades of Buster Douglas ? a play for his opponant to win could have some nice odds attached.

As much as I love boxing and watching it, I cant say that Tyson is someone I would want to spend any time with.

Other question . Is Tyson a imposing figure if you meet him ? I have met Holyfield several times and didnt come away feeling like he was a beast.

The only reason I come to Madjacks is read the general discussions. Since I quit Gambling a while back I really enjoy the off sport topics that discussed here ( Vacation spots, Politics, Video Games, Movies, Cars, Girls, Jokes, Trivia man I could go on and on. I enjoy sports too but thats not everything it is good to mix it up it a little and show other sides to people kind gives people here a personality. Even though I disagree with most of what he says I love when Eddie Haskell posts something worth debating Its fun to see two people debate about something they believe strongly in especially something interesting.

So if you ask me leave it the way it is because each sport has its own Forum.

I am still laughing at this line fletcher. Its a good one.

You know even though you don't write that well. I have never let that bother me in figuring out where you were coming from. It has always been very clear to me.
