UCLA pk over Johnnies
Johnnies are in big time trouble.This team has no leadership,no coach,etc,etc.The gds are out of control.On Wed nite after they lost to WV both Ingram and Hill disobeyed Clark and left the lockerroom.Media was waiting for a post game interview.Both players are claiming they didn't know.
But prior to the game the Clark addressed to the team about "team play,sharing the ball.no behind the back passes,no ally opps,post players taking 3's,etc
That how bad it is.Two weeks ago Brady and Ingram got into a fight at practice.
This team has no chemistry.When you have 2 starting gds that think they are both pt gds playing together and are 5'10 and 5'11 and one players nickname is "showtime...no need to explain..you guys get the point.
Grady,Cuffe,Stanley and the rest of the frontline can play decent defense but are not off. threats.
Since Jarvis left there is no discipline.Clark has no experince and his main asst. Alex Evans never coached.Alex is a big time recruiter who worked for the Riverside Church for yrs.I dealt with him on 2 of my players.A relentess recruiter that goes after the parents.But Alex knows ZERO about X's and O's.
UCLA under Howland has some talent.They were exposed the past 2 weeks vs Cal,Zona and USC.But Howland has some talent and I think this team will get better as the season progress's.
With a frontline of Thompson at 6'7 who is so explosive avg 14 pts a game.Hollins, Ariza[super frosh]Cummings and Frey.Thats 6'11,6'8,6'10 and 7'0.Johnnies have no interior defense to stop that.
Morrison is a solid gd that can handle the top. And Bozeman is really a gd that needs to saty away from the dumb passes..
I see big matchup problems today.UCLA weakness was post play.The wings are great.But Johnnies have no threat in the paint.
UCLA is not a great outside shooting team and a poor FT shooting team.But they are so athletic and a team of slashers to the hoop.
And lets not forget even though Pitt didn't play the Johnnies to many times Howland knows the BE teams.
Like UCLA to win by 10 pts or more.There playing at the Garden so there is real no homecourt adv.I think guys like Cummings and Dion will probaly play better at the "mecca' of NY courts.I know the Bruins playing away are no giant killers.But there are playing a team that will have trouble putting the ball in the paint.
