Report: UCLA's Bozeman could be out for season ESPN.com news services

UCLA's Cedric Bozeman tore cartilage in his left shoulder at practice Tuesday and could be out for the season.

The senior forward hopes the shoulder will heal with rest and treatment, but if surgery is necessary Bozeman's season probably would be over, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Bozeman, who redshirted last season while rehabilitating a knee injury, is averaging 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists this season for a Bruins team that has been plagued by injuries. Standout guard Jordan Farmar sprained his right ankle for the second time this season during Thursday night's win over Stanford. Guard Arron Afflalo; centers Michael Fey, Ryan Hollins and Lorenzo Mata; and forwards Alfred Aboya and Josh Shipp also have been injured this season.

"I'm just taking it day to day. It's tough to handle," Bozeman told the Times.

The newspaper reported that UCLA officials hope to get permission from the NCAA for Bozeman to redshirt the rest of this season if surgery is necessary.

"His season may be over," Bruins coach Ben Howland said. "If so, we will fight to get him another year."

This was enough information to scare me off of today's game. Hope this helps and good luck to all. :)

the real Q is farmar playing today, if he is take bruins. if not its a toss up.

From UCLA's Men's Basketball website:

INJURY UPDATE
Jordan Farmar- sprained his right ankle vs. Stanford in the second half (his status is a game-time decision on Saturday). Earlier this season, Farmar sprained his right ankle vs. Temple (did not play vs. Delaware State/did not play vs. Albany).

Ryan Wright- sprained his right ankle in the first half vs. Stanford, but came back to play. Wright is expected to play vs. California.

Ryan Hollins- will not play (groin strain)

Michael Fey- will not play (right ankle sprain).

Cedric Bozeman- on Tuesday, injured his left shoulder (a Wednesday MRI revealed a cartilage tear). Bozeman will rest and rehab for 3-4 weeks (and attempt to come back and play after that time period).

Looking around on the web to see if I can find anything. Johnnyb if you see something would appreciate a response. Thanks for the tip.

I think Bozeman is a liability on the floor. He can't penetrate, makes bad decisions with the ball, and is turnover prone. He tried to play point last year and couldn't play th position, now he gets a few more garbage baskets so his scoring avg. is up, but not due to his ability but more to the players around him.

IMO, the freshman, Collison, will be a better player and should get more playing time.
