Uconn stats are so far superior to Depauls. This is the first game I see such a big advantage in the stats.

I think it was in blocks Conn avg 8 while Depaul sports a 2.1 avg.
Hell thats worth 10 points right there.

If Okafer plays they squash Depaul like a bug.

I did not like the way Depaul played last night. They were lucky
to win that game.

Conn does not shoot free throws well around 60%. They also dont take care of the ball and are prone to inopportune turnovers.
This game they won't need free throws. Run them out of the gym will be the mark they set tonight.

I just hope he dont have them back spasms and have to sit.

I will be pissed if that happens.

Any word out there on Okafor's back troubles ?

Day to day ?

my lean is to depaul but im waiting for a little better line. otherwise i might take my chances and wait till halftime. but i dont think depaul will get rolled. i think theres too much being made of depauls overtime game the other night. leito familiar with uconn having been an assistant. depaul is not a pretty team but they get it done. typical blue collar team with no true stud but lots of solid role guys

Both Locals back here have UCONN 11'.

Depaul got dropped by Notre Dame by 13 and Seton Hall by 14 in the regular season.

11' seems a tad high to me.

Good Luck either way.

ESPN.com news services
Emeka Okafor's stress fracture will keep him sidelined for Friday night's Big East semifinal against Villanova.

ESPN.com reported Thursday that the stress fracture in Okafor's lower back is the cause of his recurring back spasms. Okafor missed Thursday night's quarterfinal win over Notre Dame.

Dr. Jeff Anderson, the Huskies' director of sports medicine, told ESPN.com Thursday that Okfor could have played if he could withstand the pain. The injury also isn't expected to cause any permanent damage to the junior center's back, Anderson said.

Okafor, the Big East player of the year and a likely finalist for national player of the year, decided before Thursday's tip-off that he would sit against the Irish. Okafor's playing status is expected to remain fluid throughout the Big East and NCAA Tournament. Getting rest isn't the answer, according to Anderson.

"In sports medicine, people say day-by-day, but this is really day-by-day," Anderson said. "Emeka is feeling good today. But his back could spasm at any time. He could have a great weekend this weekend or next weekend and that doesn't mean it won't spasm in the regional finals."

Anderson said Okafor saw a spine specialist in Hartford and then went to Dallas with Anderson Wednesday to see Dr. Andrew Dossett, a back specialist who treats the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers.

Anderson said the Connecticut medical staff studied the CT scan of Okafor's back after Sunday's game at Syracuse. Okafor struggled during that game, taking only two shots in 32 minutes. That's when they found the stress fracture. "That wasn't there earlier in the year," Anderson said.

Okafor, who has been bothered by the back spasms throughout the season, wanted to have an independent opinion from someone not affiliated with the university. Anderson and his staff encouraged him to do so. Okafor picked Dossett.

Anderson said that Connecticut athletic director Jeff Hathaway made sure taking Okafor by plane from Newark to Dallas wasn't an NCAA violation.

"Dr. Dossett told Emeka that he finds this problem in hundreds of elite athletes and they're still playing,'' Anderson said. "What happens is the stress fracture is on a tiny little part of the bone and then the extra motion triggers muscle around it to go into pain and then a spasm and that's when you see Emeka's face wince. He told him it's not a long-term problem. This is not a catastrophic finding."

Anderson said this was a result of wear and tear. He said the fracture occurred sometime between Dec. 2 and March 8.

This is the latest info I could find.

I would have to conclude that Okafar will start and play a full
game. This is the tournament with everything on the line.

They have to keep up with the other final four teams.

Worked out ok with my -11 . Conn steamrolled them.
The stats did the talking in that match up.

I think the OT game did take alot out of DePaul.
Thanks for taking me to the winning play.

i don't get it. depaul looked like crap against dayton, got every call, won in 2 ot's, and now they are suppossed to keep it close against uconn. i admit i did not see the 20 pt blow out coming, but depaul is average at best. there is not one impressive team in the entire conf usa. i have watched every team in this group many times. the conf is overrated and collectively they play poor bball. if uab stays with ky i will apologize. memphis has not been blown out all year, but i believe we will struggle with ok st tomorrow.

When a dog player doesnt see the value in the play.

But then that same dog player hears his instinct saying Uconn blows them away. Listen to the chalk talk and cash the ticket.

In the future if you don't mind tell me more about when you dont see the value in a play. That will help me out alot.

Follow your instincts to glory road.

let the big dog eat.
