I am going with the Huskies -14. VT is not good, Gordon has to come out and play after the whole world questioned Calhoun for not taking Gomes and going with Gordon and Okefor. Gordon also now being two weeks since surgery to repair his broken nose should be getting back into the flow of the game.

Pressure defense will force a lot of turnovers (as in the Miami/ VT game) for the huskies. Transiition baskets will be too much for the Hookies to contend with.

IMO Matthews (VT) is one of if not the best player in the Big East, so if they contain him it should be a coast to the 14 point cover!

The loss to the Friars also makes this play nice because they are going to be fired up going into blackburg which is not a hard place to play. (IMO - or that team has no pride in the Big East).

Honestly
I think it is a toss up. ND shoots threes all day and they have problems in the paint. I think UM can get down low and bang. Being in south bend is a plus for the Irish because it is a tough place to play.

IMO, I think the Irish should win. Miami has problems with quick cutting guards and I think Thomas is going to take advantage. The question is.... coming of a screen can Thomas hit the jumper? If he is on they will roll, if not they may struggle( Against Kentucky Chris Thomas was a prime contributor to the Irish's slow start. He went 0-for-5 with two turnovers in the game's first six minutes). Last year they had Carroll & Miller to pick up some scoring slack. Thomas is the key, I think he'll be on in this must win game!

If and I say IF I was going to play this game I would lean ND (-6.5) but I'm staying away.

thats the way i felt too Irish...had been riding the Canes as of late, since they were coming into the conference next year...they have won me quite a bit of bank in the past few weeks...think ND pulls it out (and covers:shrug: )....
