I agree 100% on this play, just because GA has to be focused with the schedule coming up. Richt has them thinking 1 game at a time, and they seem to be pretty grounded sitting quietly at #2 now instead of in the head seat of #1. Have 15-20 people coming over for the game if you want to come over and watch with us. Just sayin'. :mj06:

Dewberry?s return timely for Bulldogs
By CHIP TOWERS

Tuesday, September 09, 2008

Athens ? Georgia linebacker Darius Dewberry and fullback Fred Munzenmaier return from two-game suspensions. While Munzenmaier will probably be limited to special teams, Dewberry?s return could be pivotal for the defense.

As the strongside, or Sam, linebacker, Dewberry will be lining up over tight end Jared Cook, one of the Gamecocks? primary targets.

?Oh yeah, we?re going to get him in there and let him mix it,? linebackers coach John Jancek said. ?We know he?s excited.?

Said Dewberry, who spent the past two Saturdays working at St. Mary?s Hospital: ?I feel great. I feel good. I?m ready.?

sorry scott, i love them cocks
..........................................................

war holy cheese chit. Just when everything was calming down , you got to come in and post the burnt dinner as a reminder of christmas past.

Well it will not work. I will not be discourged from the focus of a winning wager.

Everything is on my side. Georgia Bulldogs are battle tested and play bad teams only good enough to win convincingly.

This game will be differant. Spurrier has run up the score over the years and everyone in Georgia knows it and revenge is sweet. Georgia has all the tools to manhandle the cocks and rip off their balls. :SIB

1. Does Spurrier REALLY have anything up his sleeve for Georgia?

In years past Steve Spurrier has been at his very best as an underdog. Just when people were starting to count him out, the Head Ball Coach has been able to come up with something to confound the opposition and find a way to win a big game. Two years ago at Florida, for example, his offense rolled up over 400 yards against a defense that would eventually lead the Gators to the national championship. South Carolina had the potential winning field goal blocked on the last play of the game and the Gators survived 17-16.

It?s Thursday, and there is still this nagging sense that Spurrier, who loves to beat Georgia more than anything in the world, will figure out something to keep this game close on Saturday.

The problem is that his best offensive option, wide receiver Kenny McKinley, has a pulled hamstring and might not be able to play. The South Carolina defense looks good on paper but was a little slow/tired in the second half against Vanderbilt.

A year ago Spurrier sandbagged the Bulldogs by praising them early in the week and then beating them 16-12 in Athens. But does he have any real options for this game?

Yeh Spurrier has options. here they are .

Georgia is not going to beat themselves this year.

S. Carolina football players in lunchroom fight
Spurrier waiting for more info before acting
By CHIP TOWERS

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Five South Carolina players were involved in an altercation that took place on campus, and university police are investigating, The State newspaper in Columbia reported.

Receiver C.C. Whitlock, offensive lineman Terrence Campbell, defensive lineman Melvin Ingram and defensive backs Akeem Auguste and Antonio Allen were listed as victims on an incident report obtained by the newspaper. The fight occurred during lunch at a food court in the Russell House on campus.

?There was an incident involving some individuals who are not students, who came on campus and went into an area in the Russell House and an incident ensued,? university spokesman Russ McKinney said.

No players were injured, and indications are that there won?t be any disciplinary action from coach Steve Spurrier.

After practice Thursday, Spurrier said the university ?will tell us what we need to do. ? I?ve just heard second-hand reports that there was a little fracas, a little tussle between some people that we don?t know and some of our football players.?

More from Spurrier Spurrier also announced Thursday that South Carolina wide receiver Kenny McKinley (hamstring) is ?definitely out? and that quarterback Chris Smelley will start. Tommy Beecher will also play at quarterback. As for redshirt freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia, Spurrier said: ?I might stick him in there for a couple of plays.?

Actually the line is solid and a good one.

There are only two ways this game will go. The Bulldogs will do a beatdown and win by over 10

or the cocks will keep it close until the end with a chance to win.

Thats really the whole gist of the wager.

I believe strongly in the first scenario.

Too much adversity and uncertainess about their playing the last two weeks for the little cocks to keep it up.

I'm an Auburn Alumni. I have looked at this game on paper for over 2 hours the last four days and every day I have considered adding a couple units telling myself if the line goes up a half, I'll add $500 more...

Tonight is Friday, and this line hasn't moved...

And now I'm worried that Spurrier has been waiting on this game....

Yeh I know and I will be watching that game with interest. I have not seen either team play yet and that is a requirement before I wager on them.

I will be rooting hard for Ohio St but I doubt they can pull the game out.

I will forever root against USC for the rest of my life. Its kinda sad really.

Steve_Spurrier_full_length_Florida.jpg

Steve Spurrier: When I got to the University of Florida in 1990, they were on hard times in Gainesville. On probation. Never won a championship. Lost a whole bunch of players. Wandering in the wilderness. Then along came ol? Stevie Boy and we got the Fun ?n? Gun up and running. Beat Georgia. Beat Tennessee. Had a little trouble with them Bowden boys for a while, but then we beat them, too. Won a national championship. Played for another. Came in first in the S.E.C. a bunch of times. One time they wouldn?t let us count it as a championship, but we won it on the field. We were the mighty Gators. Made the University of Florida an exciting place to be. Made that young Keanu Reeves character from "Devil?s Advocate" want to go there, then, boom! Devil tries to take over the world. Let me go unchecked, Lewis, and I?ll have pure evil taking over the world before you know it.

Steve Spurrier: I?ll do what I can, Lewis. Listen, we all know I?m a spoiled whiny brat, a self-centered show-off, and a smart-mouth whose mama obviously didn?t raise me right. I take cheap shots at other teams and coaches just ?cause I like to make other folks feel bad for no good reason, plus which I?m a bad sport, a sore winner, and a guy with no more sense of loyalty than to bench a Heisman Trophy candidate on account of my being in a bad mood. It?s bad enough I do that to regular folks, but I even drag my whole family into the middle of this, undermining my son?s ability to call the plays and making my wife give live T.V. interviews while she?s sitting in the stands watching me lose to Vanderbilt for the second year in a row. Heck, Lewis, you want proof that I?m the root of all evil? I was winning ten games a year at Florida and was set for life, but I got too big for my britches, I got a little bit greedy, and I wound up coaching at South Carolina. If I ain?t Lucifer getting tossed into the pit, I don?t know who is. Look at the quarterbacks I?ve got. Look at the offensive line I?ve got. Look at that guy in the chicken outfit I got to share a stage with. Now tell me I?m not in Football Hell, Lewis, I dare you to. I double-d . . . uh, I mean, I double-gamecock you to.
....................................................................

How can you not love Spurrier .

Atlanta Falcons - Baker Offensive Line

Like an SEC crowd. Before we continue, you have to excuse Baker for raising his eyebrows whenever somebody punts too deeply into the finer aspects of SEC football. He is new to the area, and he played for that other USC.

Ever hear of it?

We?re not talking about the USC in Columbia, S.C., where Georgia is Saturday. All 6-foot-5 and 312 pounds of Baker eased into a chuckle, before saying, ?It doesn?t matter where I go. People say, ?Oh, you?re big. Did you play college ball somewhere?? And I?ll say, ?Yeah, USC,? and they?ll go, ?Oh, South Carolina.? It?s just tells you that around here, no matter what we do, it?s like they don?t hear anything about USC.?

Baker meant ?USC,? as in Southern Cal, where he was a three-time All-America selection on the first team, started 49 of 52 games and played on powerhouses that lost just five times in his four years as a starter. After each of those seasons, they won the Pac-10 ? Arizona State?s home conference ? and they finished in the top-five. They also won a national championship Baker?s freshman season, and they nearly grabbed another before losing a Rose Bowl thriller.
..................................................................

Seems in the South we only know one USC

and thats SEC football son.
