It took a while for UL's men's basketball team to find success on the road last year. This week, the Cajuns are hoping it doesn't take that long.

Last season, the Cajuns won their last two and three of their last four on hostile courts after winning only once in their first 12 road contests. This year, UL is 0-4 away from home and faces the prospect of two road games in the next four days.Tonight's is the most far-flung of the season, with the Cajuns (2-8) playing the back end of a home-and-home series against Cal State Fullerton's Titans (7-2). Tipoff is set for 9:05 p.m. at Titan Gym.
UL, mired in a three-game losing streak after a 73-63 home loss to Arkansas State on Sunday at the Cajundome, will also be on the road Saturday, but closer to home, when the Cajuns go to Lake Charles to meet McNeese State in a 7 p.m. game.

"Right now, we don't care who we play or where we play," Cajuns coach Robert Lee said. "We just have to get better. We've got a lot of things to get corrected and we have to do it really quick or it's going to be a long January and February."

UL watched a seven-point halftime lead vanish in a hurry Sunday in its second straight Sun Belt Conference loss, with the visiting Indians going on a 14-0 run to take the lead for good.

It was a direct contrast to the earlier meeting with Fullerton back on Nov. 24 in the Cajundome. The visiting Titans sprinted out to a 29-11 lead midway through the first half before UL went on a 29-14 run to end the half, and then held Fullerton to 2-of-10 shooting in the second half's first five minutes to take a 52-51 lead.

Neither team led by more than four points from that point on, and Fullerton eventually won 91-89 on standout guard Bobby Brown's driving jumper at the end of overtime. Brown (22.7, 55.3% three-pointers) was held to eight points, but postman Scott Cutley had 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead four twin-digit scorers for the Titans.

Brown had 47 points in Fullerton's 94-65 home win over Bethune-Cookman Saturday, a game that Cutley missed with a fractured left (non-shooting) thumb. His status is questionable for tonight's game.

UL's David Dees (20.4) had a career-high 37 points and Ross Mouton (19.1) added 27 in that Cajun loss, with Dees hitting a jumper in the lane with nine seconds left in overtime for an 89-89 tie before Brown's game-winner.
