People who bet on what a ump did in the past will go broke. Eddings is either 2-2 or 2-1 over depending what line you got. It's not a consideration for me tonight. Good luck

So how do you choose what you bet on...? No matter what game it is I think there is some worth in looking what teams/players/umps did in the past if not then you can tell the future

After the first three weeks, what an ump did before will get you in more trouble than it's worth. I had an ump go dog fav for an entire season. Another went fav for the first 18 games. Another went home fav for 85 % one year and 50% the following year. Go ahead and play an ump based on his history and see how much you have at the end of the year. Good luck

GSP,

Looking at umps has just as good of a chance at winning a bet as any other trend/angle. The fact is if you gamble you will lose. I know, I know there going to be hundreds of Madjackers that will come out of the woodwork to tell me how well they do. Well, I have a proposition, "I have a friend" that will gladly take anyone's action. ANYONE. After they beat me, err, I mean him out of enough money I, err, I mean he will cut them off. Probably about 200K will make me, err, I mean him a believer. He has a online store that is top of the line.

I am not trying to be a ball buster or be negative energy. I am just stating the facts. I would wager there is NO ONE that will read this that is a CAREER winner gambling. If you are, and there will never be a way to prove it, then congratulations. You are .01% of the gambling population that is a winner. (NOT 1%, but .01%) Gambling is not for financial gain. It should be used as entertainment. Don't EVER lose sight of that fact.

P.S. I am a gambler as well as a , err I mean my friend is a gambler as well as an online book. He has made over a million booking over the last 6 years and he has lost close to that much gambling himself. You would think I, err I mean he would know better, eh?

GSP- I, err, I mean he has a little money. No one here bets high enough to do any damage even if they did win. Like I said, "he" will take anyone's action. ANYONE.

Rick - I live in Oklahoma.

Good Luck. Again, I am not trying to bust balls. Just stating the obvious which is NO ONE wins. (OK, maybe one in a thousand) I hope you are one of those GSP.

thanks for the congratulations.

i'd imagine that there are at least 10-20 others on here that are career winners.

anyone with money management can beat sports long term, although short term fluctuations are inevitable. you can pick 90% winners and without money management be a loser.

but as a whole, more people on the board probably lose than win. but that's the same with the general population. there are more losers than winners in any sample size you take. if there weren't, then books wouldn't exist.

as for umps, gsp is correct. the first few weeks are absolutely meaningless. guys like eddings in general did have 2 big under years prior to this.
but do me a favor, look at every umps stats for the last 5 years, and plenty of years you will find that they flip flop from year to year with favs/dogs/over/under as they adjust to their previous years. for the most part, they all strive to be somewhere balanced within standard deviation when its all said and done. wait til the all star break before you get a really good read on what a particular guy might do this year. and even then its never an exact science. a guy like eddings might be calling a wide strike zone and even want an under tonight, but he can't stop guys from hitting pitches that are grooved in the zone.

BDB, hammer1....you both are more than welcome to have action...... I could be wrong, just just doubt it. BDB the only way you could make me believe you are a CAREER winner is to SHOW ME. (I hope you are. I've never cut anyone off for winning too much. Though I have ended many a m*therf*cker.)

NO CREDIT NEEDED! LOL

i don't need to show you. i could honestly care less if you believe me. i've supported a wife and child playing poker for the last 11 years. sports is added income to me, and i wouldn't do it if i didn't make money. i don't need action on games, as i rarely watch games i have money on.

as for bringing it on, i'm content getting instantanneous payouts via neteller and shopping for my lines. i also prefer 8 cent lines, and i don't feel like calling a bookie in oklahoma who has nothing to offer me to prove a point.

i'm entitled to my opinion and so are u. gl in your plays. since you don't believe anyone wins, have fun with the entertainment value.

BDB,

As I said, I hope you are a winner. For every "winner" out there like you there are 1000 LOSERS. Yes, 1000. If you played with "my friend" you wouldnt have to call as his operation is online. In fact I bet if you posted then I bet "he" would offer you 5% vig. Cant beat that anywhere except Pinnacle. Thoughts??

You are right. Most people do lose but without football most bookies would be out of business. Everyone that ever saw a football game thinks they can pick the winner. What they don't realize is there's a thing called the point spread. In the 10 plus years that I've been playing with betting ball games, I've never had a loser in any sport. However, until this year I might bet 2 or three football games a year. Good luck, I've said all I have to say on the subject.
