never seen so much handchecking not called by Illinois since the NBA a couple years ago.....then they call 3 quick ones on Hinrich and 2 on Collison......unreal.....Illinois plays thugball and refs just watch it

The refs are getting the hang of it now.....checked rulebook....can call fouls on both teams!!!!

If they continue to call it tight, it will hurt Illinois' big men badly. They're hackers.....it's their nature, they wont be able to stop.

This is a home game for Illinois. Badger coach was urging fans to cheer for Illinois cause there in their conference plus its a short trip for illinois fans. The fans may have something to do with foul situation.

I don't know! just a thought!

Good luck!

JUST CAUGHT THE TAIL END OF THE 1ST HALF, AND THE KID FROM KANSAS WAS HACKED AND NO FOUL CALLED. SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TREE POINT PLAY BUT NO FREAKIN WHISTLE. CERTAINLY COULD USE EVERY PT. IN THESE TYPE GAMES, HOPE IT DOSEN'T COME BACK TO HAUNT ANY OF US WHOM ARE ON THE KU SIDE, LAYING THE 5.5. HOPEFULLY THE REFS WILL GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER IN THE 2ND HALF!!

kansas hamstrung by foul trouble

kansas hamstrung by foul trouble

collison and hinrich-3 fouls each...boschee 2......illini-f williams has 2....thanks for the heads up freeze....i offed half of my wager(my largest of the tourney)...even if kansas covers, and i don`t think they will, the crowd and officiating info is invaluable...this is why i haven`t wagered on college b`ball the last 2 regular seasons...gl...we`ll need it.

I'm an optimist, I think the refs are going to have a better game in the 2nd. I have nothing to base that on, except i think Williams has taken the opportunity to make his views known.

nope Hinrich has 4 now.....Jayhawks are in big trouble......refs are letting them handcheck but they don't let Kansas use their free hands.....terrible.....

Even bigger to me though, is why did Roy Williams take Collison out on his 4th foul?
The lead was 10, there was less than 5 min. left and Collison was dominating on both ends inside. I think he should have went for their throat!

books know what they`re doin`

books know what they`re doin`

bluechip has an anti-consensus thread going....the anti-consensus picks are kicking butt...may be to late to start following, but next season i think it`s the way to go in the tourney....i really believe that the linesmakers have an idea who will get the big action and how they control the outcome is anybody`s guess(refs would be mine)....before i`m ridiculed, please just consider the enormous amounts of money being wagered on this stuff...the biggest sporting events in this country are the most heavily wagered upon(ncaa tourney, pro football etc).....not looking to get flamed, but public consensus being wrong on such a high percentage basis seems to be more than a coincidence....having not watched the kansas game myself, but listening to some of the comments it seemed to be uniformly bad officiating throughout the game..from what i read, roughly 75% of public money was on kansas.....just one of many examples throughout the tourney....just an opinion.am curious to see what bluechip`s final anti-consesnsus percentile will be....good luck to everybody and thanks for letting me glom some picks from some of the outstanding cappers here.

you are right....overall this year antipublic picks did very well.....Kansas should have put this game away though, but they didn't and Illinois covered....

Hinrich played about 10 minutes and without him this game had little chance of getting over the total....not much you can do about that and i am sure GENO knew exactly what was going to happen
