Wofford looks to move ahead of Furman in the tie-breaker situation for third in the SoCon.

Notes: With three games remaining in the regular season, Wofford is tied with Furman for third place, two games behind UNCG. The Terriers can move ahead in the tiebreaker advantage over the Paladins for third seed in the upcoming Southern Conference tournament by beating UNCG. Otherwise, Furman has the tiebreaker because it beat Mercer twice. ? Wofford lost the first meeting to UNCG, 71-67, way back in the league opener Dec. 30 in Greensboro. That was the first game back from the holiday break and the next game (10 days later) after the Terriers knocked off North Carolina to become the only team from South Carolina to beat UNC in Chapel Hill. ? Alonso scored 26 points for UNCG against Wofford and went 6-for-10 from 3-point range. The Terriers were up by 14 points at the half but went seven scoreless minutes to start the second half. Magee had 21 points by halftime but then was shut out, going 0-for-8 shooting with five missed 3-pointers. ?

Magee has had back-to-back historic 3-point games. Thursday at Western Carolina, he broke Wofford?s career record and also the single-season record. Two days later in Chattanooga, he tied the single-game record with 11. He leads the nation in 3-pointers per game (4.46). Magee leads the Southern Conference in scoring by a wide margin (4.6 points per game ahead of Alonso) and is second in overall shooting percentage (.500), first in free throw percentage (.919) and third in 3-point percentage (.451). Stumpe leads the league in 3-point shooting (.462) with 43 fewer attempts. ? Wofford lost three of four to begin February but has now won three of four. The Terriers are coming off back-to-back road victories and are 12-2 at home this season, the only losses to South Carolina and East Tennessee State. ? UNCG lost Saturday at Mercer to have a five-game winning streak snapped. Included during that stretch for the Spartans were wins at Furman (80-67) and at home against ETSU (74-66).

Next: Wofford plays Friday at ETSU and concludes the regular season with a 2 p.m. Sunday home game against Mercer. UNCG has home games against Chattanooga and Samford. Furman, meanwhile, has road games at Western Carolina and ETSU.
