as much as i like nova...and have cashed nicely(closely once) on them the first two rounds.....just can't do it here....
have seen many teams step up when one of their key players go down...just think it's going to take an amazing effort to keep this one close....not that it can't happen....
just think the loss of sumpter is huge here....tough to take away leader rebounder and 2nd leading scorer on a short rotation already....and don't like the way nova has played in the first two rounds even though they came away with "w's" and cashed my tickets...
vs. new mexico they shot a horrid 28% and just hung on and yes they did beat a florida team and yes they did not have sumpter for a lot of the first half and none of the second half and still dominated....or was it more of the gators ineffectiveness...i think the later...
nova only shot 9-25 in the 2nd half...freebies saved their ass....and got an unexpected performance from fraser....21 pts and 15 boards...9 offensive...this from a respectable player but one that also failed to score in the new mexico game...foye, lowry and fraser combined to go 18-37 vs the gators..throw out sumpters 3-4 and the rest of the team was 3-17....that won't get it done tonight....
how bout the leading scorer...ray comes into the game tonight shooting 1-18(ouch) in the two tourney games...not what i would want to be thinking about coming into a game with the heels....
nova plays pretty much a 7 man rotation....no sumpter put that to a 6 man rotation and only two scorers averaging in double digits on the year...and one of those is your 1-18 in ray....so a six man rotation...any foul trouble will not be good....and i think it is a possibility...may can be brutal on the inside...and got a feeling carolina will be taking it to the hole forcing the issue...
heels have 5 players averaging in dd for the year and will play 9-10 with a main rotation of 8-9 and will be bringing marvin williams off the bench...talk about a spark.....
just think it's going to take an incredible effort for nova tonight...and yes, it could happen and yes it's happened before.....
ray must break out of his 1-18 freefall ....fraser needs a repeat of last game.....especially on the boards...and lowry and foye must also have very nice games...must limit the to's and stay out of foul trouble...all while shooting a high percentage which they have not even scared yet....
could it happen...yes, but i'll take my chances and put my $$$$ on the other side....
