Anyone have any numbers pertaining to an unranked road team favored over a ranked home team.
Granted Pitt is only ranked 23 but still ranked nonetheless.
Was surprised to see Inc favored by 3.

Both teams are 6-1. Both playing pretty well.

Pitt Sos is 33
UNC Sos is 66

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks All!

as you can tell by my avatar im not exactly unbiased when it comes to the tarheels but heres my take fwiw. im not buying that Carolina should be favored over pitt in Pittsburgh. I know pitt's home field advantage is diluted playing off campus, but seems to me that the panthers are exactly the kind of team that would give the heels problems - good rushing game, solid defense, ball control kind of team. these teams have nice 6-1 records but neither one has beaten anyone of note, best win for both was tech in Atlanta. and don't forget Carolina has duke on deck and pitt has notre dame. I played pitt +3 earlier in the week and under 56 today. 27-20 pitt.

and as long as im passing out biased opinions, im looking for the wolfpack to play tight with the tigers on Saturday - nc state +10-.

fwiw, my opinion is that UNC has too offense for Pitt to handle. As to UNC's defense, they are much improved from last year with the addition of defensive Coach Chiznik. They have a nose for the ball this year and are stellar against the pass. Pitt's main weapon is their receiver Boyd, don't see him having a big enough game to offset the fire power of UNC.

Appreciate the replies!

I was stunned to see an unranked road team favored over a ranked home team. Don't know if I've ever seen that.
Obviously we see the unranked home favorite every year but not sure about the road unranked favored team.

Last time these two teams played each other with any ranking meaning, LT played LB for UNC and Marino was QB for Panthers!!

UNC has pulled wins out of their ass, no way they should have come back from 21 pts down to G Tech but they did and they've faced no one since then that is even ranked. Pitt has played some tough teams and have a new system in place and missing a few key elements including RB Conner, but they haven't skipped a beat.

Huge steam on Pitt taking line from -3 UNC to -1 for Pitt now.

Turnovers will dictate the outcome in this tilt!

GL on whatever side you are playing!!

Don't look now Loop but Carolina has it's first real football team since Mack's last year, also my freshman year, '97-98. Still think you guys beat us this year. What's up with Doeren's inability to win in-conference??

UNC looked faster than Pitt last night. The receivers were bigger, and Williams was pretty good even though it was windy.
I was also impressed by UNC's defense. Not that Pitt is an offensive juggernaut but the UNC defense looked fast and swarmed to the ball. They also got a lot pressure and held Pitt's run game in check which I thought would be the deciding factor in the game since UNC was giving up Around 200 a game. All in all UNC looked good and deserved the win.

I thought there were some bad/missed calls against Pitt throughout the game until the last drive for Pitt when the refs flagged UNC for everything. Crazy how that works.

Either way UNC deserved the victory and it should be a good game against Duke. However, If Duke beats UNC, the following week Pitt plays Duke so it should be interesting down the stretch.

Honestly, I'm just happy Pitt is semi relevant at this stage of the season. Lol!

GL guys!
