I?m not a big conspiracy theorist guy so I tend to believe the numbers are somewhat accurate.. But I still don?t understand the victory lap??? It took 4 yrs to get unemployment numbers just a pubic hair below 8%... I guess everyone forgot that this administration promised unemployment at 5% by the end of the first term.

Not to mention we know of some huge companies like BOA, AA, and Lockheed to name a few are set for MASSIVE layoffs by the end of the year.. So we are right back where we started.

Guess we can add Fed Ex to the list..

Cutting thousands of jobs by the end of the year... but no things are great:0074

another one bites the dust.. Another 250 million of taxpayer money on Presidents tab.

DETROIT (AP) ? The U.S. operations of electric car battery maker A123 Systems filed for bankruptcy protection and its automotive assets are being acquired by Johnson Controls for $125 million.

The announcement Tuesday comes one day after A123 warned in a regulatory filing that it likely would miss some debt payments and could be headed for bankruptcy court.

A123, based in Waltham, Mass., got a $249 million U.S. government grant to help it build a battery factory in Michigan.

The bankruptcy filings do not include A123's subsidiaries outside of the U.S. But those assets also will be sold.

$250M right back into the US Economy, no? I wonder how much money the government got back in taxes from all the people that worked to build that factory and worked to build that business? Maybe we should just put our heads in the fucking sand and keep sending money to the middle east for their precious oil.

All of you complaining about the energy grants are shortsighted, narrow minded dolts. Christ.

You don't get the part about some of that money being recouped via the taxes that were brought in or you don't get the part about us having to get off of our dependence on foreign oil?

Maybe gas prices will go down on their own or individuals will invest their own money in these new technologies.....let's just wait it out. Awesome plan! That's the conservative plan.
