Does anyone know the normal rate when collecting unemployment? Is it like 3/4 of your pay and for how long?

Thanks

About 1/4 to 1/5 and it's based on how long you've been working with the company you were last at. Unemployment sucks, been through it once when I was much younger and told my first boss to go fukk himself. Oh well, found a job before it ran out.

I hope you are wrong. How in God's earth could people even live off of that? Why even have unemployment pay if that is what it pays? Before anyone says "hey lazy, get a job", I just found out.

try google

In many states, the compensation will be half you earnings, up to a maximum amount. For example, in New York State you're entitled to collect up to a maximum of $405, which is half the state's average weekly wage. While in Arizona, the highest benefit rate is $205.

It is PA. I went to the website and they have a key that says compensation. It is a PDF file that is worse than reading the Declaration of Independence.

In GA it is 280-300 a week, so probably pretty much the same. You can elect to pay taxes up front or pay at the end. Not much, but it will at least pay part of a mortgage. Had 2 friends laid off last year by the same company. They made 125k per year, so not sure about your situation. Good luck.

dude i live in Pa and its closer to what six said. But it depends how much you make. There is a max on it so if you made ten grand a week or twenty grand its gonna be the same thing. Its not 1/5 tho. Did you ever collect it. Im not even sure how it works anymore. Usually you have to go once in person and then they put you on mail claim i think its called. They try to make you feel like shit but just brush it off. If People were not laid off those people wouldn't have a job. They don't understand that tho. I bet Raymond knows but possible not.

The same who put into it? there is a reason for this benefit. Do some abuse it? Sure. Did i sure it was great making a third of the money i was use to.

First time in a long time. couldn't have been a better setup. I just walk right into that. that was so good i think i might fall for it later tonight. when you posted the 2006 stuff i thought you were talking about that i was laid off then. Then i realize you were pointing out the chart was from 2006. Then i just fell right into the trap. Just sickening.

No.......just laid off or fired.

You can't collect if you are fired but you can if your whole city gets wiped out and you lose your job. Those type of losers.

Is that 36% every week? If so I would be getting 72% of my pay every 2 weeks. It isn't life or death since my wife is the breadwinner of the family.
