UNION MEMBERS ALERT
Union president admits Kerry - Edwards victory would hurt unions; Yet pledges $65 million to help elect Kerry???
Andy Stern, President of SEIU, (the largest union under the AFL-CIO umbrella), told the Washington Post's David Broder that the union movement is in "crisis" and might benefit more if the Kerry-Edwards ticket loses this fall. "I don't know if [the union movement] would survive with a Democratic president," said Stern. When asked if a Kerry presidency would help or hurt the internal union reforms, Stern said, "I think it hurts."
Yet, he is willing to support Kerry. In a later statement Stern clarified his remarks and reiterated his union's support for Kerry. "Let me be clear: It is SEIU's top priority to help elect a president who will stand up for America's working families," he said in a statement. "That is why we are spending an unprecedented $65 million to win in November. I am personally committed to help send John Kerry to the White House." Everyone wants something. Insurance, HMO, Drug industries now up over 120 million given to Republicans. They even admitt it.
Insurance companies real happy with medicare deal they got.
Now the seniors can help pay for the great deal insurance got. With the highest 17% increase in the history of medicare.
That be alot of your mom's, dad's and grandparents getting it in the butt. Just so drugs companies can pick up another 130 billion. And insurance can get another 7 billion in tax free saving accounts. The little guy gets it in the butt again.

Seniors have to pay for something? What an outrage? The nerve of having people actually pay!!!

We should eliminate the dollar as a means of transaction. Lets go back to clams and salt.

You saw what Bush did with the Airline Union. They couldn't even strike. And does anyone remember the Republicans when the Air Traffic Controllers went on strike????????? You guys are killing me; again. What good is a union if you can't negotiate anything. Mr. Bush will look out for your best interest, right?

Why can't individuals negotiate with their employers themselves?

Instead of paying union dues and getting told you are being too productive, the American worker would benefit much more if he could work hard and get paid accordingly and have employers compete for his services.

Unions are a joke....as is the AMA, my union.

Look to wall mart there fair. They will hire anyone. They hope dumb if possible. Because they want you to think 6 bucks a hour is a good deal. That way 4 of the Walton's can stay in the top ten of the wealthiest folks in the world. They say trickle it our way and screw the worker.
