After the 5-7 season this year what changes do you think are in store for next year?

I hope they fire Greg Davis the OC and promote Major Applewhite to OC and I hope Muschamp leaves for a head coach position and please get rid of the quarterback Gilbert, he is one of the worst in college football and never improved from day 1, at least open it up for competition in the offseason

thoughts?

Actually, as far as yards allowed go, Texas was pretty darn good on D. I know I was really disappointed when I had them vs Kansas St. I know it has to be a disappointing year for Texas fans but when you lose a Colt McCoy you have to go down some. Look what the loss of Tebow did for Florida. Their types probably only come along once in 15-20yrs maybe?

The problem seems to be effficiency which is usually due to inexperience and or...what we'd rather not say...coaching. More than likey just inexperience. TO & TD were very respectable, but just did't carry over into points, especially when you take out the non-conference games. Definitely in the red on both counts but especially the latter.

Take it for what it's worth, but I am hearing that Davis will resign, which would fit the Mack Brown way of handling things. That way he doesn't fire him outright. Most likely replaced by Applewhite. Naturally, nothing factual as of yet, but information from a decent source inside. But you know how these types of rumors go!

Muschamp is a prime example of striking while the iron is hot. Guy turns down multiple jobs including tenn job and now folks are talking about getting rid of him:facepalm: Another prime example this year will be Aub OC. He looks like a genius with cam and crew, he better take the best one offerd since his gravy train wont be back.

I agree 100% - this coach is waiting BS seems like a joke to me. I know Jimbo had a pretty good year, but I was one of the few Vol fans that didn't want Muschamp.(I wasn't going nuts about Dooley either)

I wanted Kelly two years ago when they got Kiffey, and then wanted Patterson at TCU when they got Dooley. I think Patterson would have been the "SEC" proto-typical coach.

I still would jump all over ole Gussy down there at Auburn. I would love to see that team when he leaves and just Chizik in charge.

Oklahoma is doing pretty good this year, post Sam Bradford. A little different situation since Landry Jones got some experience last year due to Bradford's injury, but he's still a sophomore.

Totally agree that Cam Newton is a stud, but Gus Malzahn has been a genius everywhere he has been. He has taken the offense to a whole other level at Arkansas, Tulsa, and now at Auburn. It's a system that will put up points no matter who is running it or where they are.

Texas is going to be fine, especially if the class coming in next year is any indication.

The MAJOR problem I see and you see it all of the time and it's that Brown decided on Gilbert as the QB and probably won't change his mind. It seems to happen to the big programs and IMO can bring a school down for 3 or 4 years and that really hurts recruiting. I don't know if Brown makes deals with highly recuited players but they have to have someone better than Gilbert. It reminds me of when Simms played and Applewhite couldn't get on the field. It's the eye test and w/l test, Gilbert has failed both. Time for a change.

True...Landry is light years better than what Texas and Florida had to work with.

Texas has the best facilities, the #2 enrollment and more money than God. They always have a top-10 recruiting class, usually top 5.

Yet they have won one title in the last 40 years, and that was all Vince Young.

MacK Brown can recruit ( who couldn't to UT?) but is over-rated as a HC.

Muschamp is waiting to take the reins, and he may have erred in showing that patience.

That's dead on. Also, Mack is inclined to be the top dog for in- state recruiting and usually has alot signed early while they are in their junior years in high school. That has not always worked out, which tends to leave him without the scholarships to offer for the big name guys. While I agree that it's important to recruit strong in your home state, to be a TRUE national power consistently, you have to recruit nationally, which he does not. Look at his history, the same thing happened at UNC.
