Colin Powell is being interviewed by some chick on Syrian TV. was surprised to see that....

The Bush adminstration and allies need to make a concerted effort to win the hearts and minds of the Arab on the street. After all, Bush said that this conflict is to liberate Iraq, to free its people and make their lives better in the long run.

And no doubt about it, part of the overall battle is to win the PR campaign. Powell is the U.S.' designated guy to tell the overseas Arab community that this war is only again Saddam's dictatorial regime. The message needs to get through to them, and the only way to do it is through their various media outlets.

CNN saying Al Jazeera is not a friendly media outlet. And that they will not use their stuff. 30 seconds ago, they used Al Jazeera pictures to show the latest civilian casulties.

I dont watch alot of MSNBC....they are too busy calling up parents to the POWs and interviewing them, rather then concentrating to the matter at hand.

righttttt. Arab girl gets raped by some slob in Dearborn, parents call the cops - and the cops dont do anything about it because they are arabs. And of course, all the other hate crimes that heppened.....Trying to win the hearts of arabs in this country using propaganda....

The fact that we get so many stories about 1 event tells me not to trust anybody. WhoEVER gets the story first - thats what they want. Get the story, then fix the credability.

Do we even know what happened on day 1 yet? Iam still hearing the bombing was planned (ABC News) - others say it was a last minute thing (CNN, MSNBC)...well damn, make up your mind

Watching the Pentagon Briefing, they are saying 24 American Soldiers are dead. Now I coulda swore that I saw 32 just 2 days ago. All of a sudden 8 soldiers came back to life??

i am sure President Bush is responsible for micro-managing the local police department from wherever your little anecdote comes from and i am sure that you have the facts 100% straight from that story...

i have never seen a story detailing Bin Ladin's capture nor his kids capture....although rumors make the news sometimes....and i am sure it was a big conspiracy to rally the stock market....since Bin ladin has so much to do with it....and even if he did have something to do with it, once it would be found out that it was a fabrication, all phantom gains would eventually turn into even bigger losses

most often when the news comes out, they dont know much about it....later things are pieced together....nothing wrong with that....much better to have news organizations competing against each other for both reliability AND promptness then the alternative which we see from Uncle Saddam

I watch all 3 news networks(no at one time), & try to read whatever I can & have never heard caualties in the 30's. Before the pentagon briefing I heard deaths to be around 19-20.

Hellah, I'm sure that you know more than I do concerning the arab world, but I think you are short changing these people if you think that no matter what happens they will never change their opinions about the western world.

Some of you guys remind me of myself during the 60's & 70's when I did not believe anything that the US gov't said.But as I got older my disbeliefs subsided. While I still sometimes doubt what the gov't says, I tend to believe them more than what other gov'ts. say,especially with what this so called gov't in iraq says.

its good to have a healthy suspicion of things but some people go way overboard...

in the US the gov't is BY the people and for the people....sometimes they lose sight of being for the people, but it is sitll BY THE PEOPLE....in otherwards people like you and me....and all these talks of government conspiracies both left and right wing are mostly ridiculous grounded in very little evidence....most often times things happen strangely because people are human and mistakes and oversights are made...not because they are all intentions

its not so much about what the western world. Its what the western world does for Isreal. That pisses off people over there more then anything.

The Iraqis will swayed towards the Americans in this desperate time. But I can assure you, the hattered will only grow. This has been going on for decades, I wouldnt expect it to stop on a dime and for them to change their views.

so anytime cops fail to live up to their duties because of an Arab girl its because we are racist.....fail to protect the black girl its racist....fail to protect the mexican its racist....but when we fail to protect the white girl its incompetence or laziness i guess....

look i dont know the story of your friend and i am sure it was tragic as all rapes are but you cant blame it on some big conspiracy for failure of the local police dept. to do their job....thats how things like resentment starts....people are human and prone to being lazy and yes some individuals are even racists....and the gov't is not responsible in the USA for micromanaging the local PD and we should be thankful for that...

go to the city commision, county commision or whereever and take the proper course of action to get this cleaned up....

And don't know if the Arab world hates US or not, but at least we aren't dancing in the street over casulties, burning Iraqi flags, taking hostages, etc. I guess the fact that we are not Muslim is enough reason to hate US. Still I haven't, or can't recall, hearing any Muslims speak out against 9-11.
