Agree with you totally Wizz.
I have PennSt as play this week, along with our conference GOY.
I was saying the other day, is anyone's mug more recognized
in college FB than Paterno's? love those specs!
best of luck ...Go Lions! Swam

Penn St +4.5 3:30 est
We love to play on road dogs after tossing
a shut-out as they are a very profitable 65%
over the last 15 yrs. The last time the Lions
visited here, Paterno suffered his worst loss
ever as a Head Coach, so he will have his
team well prepared. PSU is 6-0 ATS as an
AD in Big 10 play the L/2Y & is led by the
Big 10?s top QB, Zack Mills, whose OL has
allowed just 8 sacks. The Penn St defense
seems to be getting stronger & is off its best
effort yet, completely shutting down NW?s no-
huddle offense LW. This sets up well as they
are going vs an offensive line that has been
giving up a lot of sacks and now will have to
face their toughest pass rushers yet.

Not a bad call Wizz on Penn St +5 but I think their chances rely no much on Mills' arm. Penn st has played very well this year even though they've been robbed by officials. If penn st can slow down claret early I as well think they could win, but that's a big if especially the way their run D has been in previous outings. Even though I wouldn't call for the S/U Penn State +5 does look tasty especially since it's moving up and the public will probably hammer it to +6 or +7 by Saturday

GOOD LUCK

:D

I wish I could atttach the information about OSU that I have from the local newspapers but they are really beat up. They lost a CB two weeks ago and the freshman CB got burnt against Wisconsin forcing the Bucks to put Gamble (wr) in the game. He did make a interception on a badly thrown ball by Sorge but he is untested against a top notch QB like Mills. The Buckeyes also lost Cie Grant he is highly doubtful vs PSU, Hawk stepped in against WIsky and did a good job but Wisky basically didn't go right at him. Given a week to prepare look for Paterno to go right at him. The Buckeyes also annouced that their starting left tackle is out for the PSU game with a emergency appendix operation. A frosh from Nordonia, Ohio will take over this week. Again look for Joepa to go right at the frosh. CLarett suffered a stinger vs Wisconsin, but according to Tressel the injury is not serious, but if you have ever had a stinger the first time you get hit in that spot the pain can be overwhelming.

I agree PSU +5 is the way to go in this game. although i wont bet against the bucks, last week i said wisky plus the points was the paly. OSU very beat up as mentioned in posts above. In additon to that our best D lineman Will Smith is hurt and was not supposed to play last week. When he came into the game he was ineffective due to his injury. PSU + the points is the play here, but i would be very weary of the ML. Bucks have been absolutely dominant at home, and clarett is yet to have a bad game there. HUGE HOME FIELD advantage for the bucks, so look for a bukcs win by 3 or less, with a possible chance of a PSU upset. Good luck to everyone

I will reserve my opinion on the game for later but it sure seems like Penn State is this week's Iowa State........and we all saw what happened in that game last week...........Take Iowa State on the moneyline was in almost 33% of the posts.........at least 65% of the posts had Iowa State as a play.........and it dumped big time......before you put your eggs in one basket, remember the old saying: Never corner a wounded dog.......

i wouldn't go as far as calling this "the upset of the year" but i love penn state in this game. mills and johnson are 100% and when they are this offense is as good as any in the country. the defense is improving week to week and the "d" will be the key to the game. the 3rd down defense killed them in the iowa and michigan game, not the "refs". if they can hold ohio state to lesss than 33% 3rd down conversions and win the turnover battle they should be able to pull this game out. penn state by 7, 34-27

I agree with you that this play will be the popular underdog and one should tread lightly.

However, there is no way comparing this to the ISU/Okie game. Okie is far far superior to the Buckeyes. The Lions should be able to move the ball with their high powered O (one of the best of the country in my opinion). Like Bobmac said the Penn St. D will be the key in this one. If they slow down Clarett and get up a td or two early, they should win.

Ohio St. is a joke being ranked #4, OUTRIGHT JOKE!!!!!!!

One of the most overrated teams in the nation.

Sat, Aug 24 Texas Tech W 45-21
Sat, Sep 7 Kent St W 51-17
Sat, Sep 14 Washington St W 25-7
Sat, Sep 21 at Cincinnati W 23-19
Sat, Sep 28 Indiana W 45-17
Sat, Oct 5 at Northwestern W 27-16
Sat, Oct 12 San Jose St W 50-7
Sat, Oct 19 at Wisconsin W 19-14

I think they peaked with their win over Wazzou and have been coasting since.

great analogy.......33% had Okie State on the ML and 65% had Okie State last week too.........i am not sure how Penn State is this week's Iowa State......one thing is for sure -- Ohio State is NOT Oklahoma

you can't compare games like this....plus, what does "cornering a wounded dog" have to do with this game? and even if it DID have something to do with this game - how does it only apply to Ohio State and NOT Penn State?

I just hope Ohio State "plays one play at a time", doesn't "overestimate their opponent", plays "as a team", "comes together" during the week, has a "good week of practice", and has the mindset of their "backs against the wall". If they do these things and also "concentrate on the little things" they should have a "good recipe for success" and be able to "be in the game at the end" against Penn State.

I thought I was reading something by Brent Mussberger for a minute. :) :) :)
Only he could have that many cliches in one sentence.

lol....play on a basketball league team and we were spouting off about 50 cliches the other day after one guy said one on how we need to beat the other team......he goes "we need to take this one possession at a time" (seriously) and that opened the floodgates.....lol
