Jord-really you are not mocking Bisket-you never have done this before youreslf:shrug:

No - not mocking Bisket. Mocking the hero worship for a call that was 0 for the last 16. DO you disagree with the point, or just want to be an ass with some personal beef you have with me?

I try to stick to facts and points, not ad hominen crap

Nice call Period.

But the rest of this thread serves to remind me why I don't bother posting my plays any more. Jesus

Not sure why.

All snide aside, I think these are important topics directly related to gambling, betting, and odds. And we are in a gambling forum. I think they are appropriate points to talk about. If someone goes 0 for 16 on +300 to +1100 plays and then hits one, you think that's a "nice" call? I guess it is, but my point is pretty simple - by straight math, you are more likely to hit a couple of these over 16 "of the year plus odds posts." Also, the juice on a -2000/+1000 odds play is absurd.

But I guess can't stay on any topic, without being an asshole, rude, or offending a zillion people.

Anyhow, like I said, my nature was good over here (although tough to read tone in an online forum) - I stand by my point, and wish there was MORE of this - not less. It helps everyone learn more and think more. Just my very humble opinion. It makes more sense to me to actually discuss these things rather than bully people into not being able to comment unless they do it wrapped in a compliment sandwich.

Anyhow, I hope people made money off of this, including Bisket. I'm always rooting for the people over the man.

Cheers all :toast:

Btw, I'm not trying to mock Bisket, nor am I making an opinion on his plays here - just simply enjoying the humor of this type of prognosticator fallacy and "fooled by randomness" that tricks so many people.

Ignore me and carry on.

You are being a total dick, the kind you deserve in most of your threads but then whine about when they post.

Figured I wouldn't get any real responses to the facts of the post. Oh well. All I got was the good old Jeffrey Lebowski response, of "you're not wrong, you're just an asshole."

I don't agree with any of the off topic points made since my post.

Haven't had a chance to come back in and congratulate, but nice call Bisket!

To the skeptics:
Maybe Bisket has been on a bad run recently with these long shot calls, but regardless of what anyone says, I can say with certainity that, more often than not, (and I haven't quite worked out the percentages) these long-shot dogs DO cover ATS and I've made a good chunk of change over the years just taking the dog ATS, regardless of whether I put a little on the ML. Thanks once again Bisket :0008

A guy hits a +1100 play....I'll tell him nice call everytime

Jord- I don't think anyone said- "bisket you are always right on these and you never lose"....then I could see you having reason to question the posts....but all people are saying is- nice call on iowa who was a +1100 underdog.. what is wrong or false about that?

And he's won at least a handful of these and has been very close on others....so I would agree saying he has a knack for seeing when a underdog has big value

I just don't understand what your bothered by? Not one person said congrats on all the winners...simply nice call on Iowa...so what do his losers have to do with it?

Fair point, Deezy. That actually sounds right to me and is probably true. If people are making money, im happy. This is probably a smart way to treat these.

Thanks

I have a buddy like this, everytime the last second half court shot goes up, he sticks his hands up and yells, "GOOD!!" Then he feels like a proud genius when the one in 12 falls. Love it

Btw, I'm not trying to mock Bisket, nor am I making an opinion on his plays here

Jord also- how can you compare bisket to your buddy using a negative connotation and then proclaim your intention isn't to mock him

Just seems contradictory

Bothered? That may be a stretch.

Look, I'm not in the everyone gets a trophy camp. If someone gets 15 predictions in a row wrong, I'm not going to anoint him the smartest man in the world or some champion of great calls - it's disingenuous and wrong. That's just me. I recalled a bunch of losers in a row, so I went back and looked at quick glance and saw 15 non-winning in posts in a row. To give people a false sense of accomplishment after that isn't me. Maybe I'm wrong.

That isn't me. I wish posting was with video or something, you'd see I'm not a "hater" or a "dick" or whatever else the social justice warriors want to call me. I just didn't want to crown his ass after going 1-15.

I genuinely hope Bisket makes money off these, and all you do too, however you play them. And even though, Jack called me some sort of fanboy for fading the Warriors, lol, I think he's a great dude, who runs a great site. I don't have thin skin. I keep coming back to TRY and help -even though I've been pretty bad lately. I've been around a while and like to think I still have some edge over the market. Who knows, maybe I don't anymore. But honestly, I come for the banter, the pulse, and to help. I don't tail posts.

Take my stuff for whatever you want - it's NEVER to be an asshole to anyone. It's not. I don't ever whine - I'm not a fan of the personal insults, especially for people we don't even know. If you look here, I don't ever say a bad word about Bisket or show anger. But whatever.

Carry on, fellas.

Not contradictory at all. Congratulating either of them when one goes 'in' isn't my problem. That buddy is my best friend in the world for 30 years. Not everything is 'mean.'

I don't know why Bisket posts and don't care. People like it, I'm cool with it. I'm not mocking him whatsoever -just the people who crown him for going 1-16 should have a reality check.

You seem more "bothered" by my take on the situation than I am bothered by whatever it is you perceive.

Cheers Addict. Are you loving this Penn St run!?

You say you want conversation....then when I ask questions to try and better understand your intent, you pull the "you are more bothered then me" card lol....I was just trying to understand better....I understand not handing out trophies....I agree with you...kids shouldn't get trophies for participating.....but I wouldn't go to those kids house after they finally scored a goal just to remind them they really suck and their friends shouldn't be excited for them because they didn't win the prior 15 games....just me....I don't think that means I'm giving those kids a false sense of succes....if they finally scored a goal I think it's ok to tell them good job....isn't it? I'm sure just like bisket, they remember they didn't win the prior 15 contests

I'm not worried or even talking about Bisket here. I even made a point to say who my post was directed at.

And I don't think your analogy is close to valid. I'm not saying Bisket remembers his 15 losses or doesn't, but if you look, those posts have about an average of 70 views. Then one winner and BOOM 900 views. That's why people lose money tailing. And that's why touts are in business - because people falsely equate success with things that get pushed to the "top." Again, that's my point for the 7th time. But keep going back to a kids or biskets "feelings."

You didnt...I was just making a point.

Anyways I was just curious as to the intent of pointing out his losers....

You answered my question....

As far as bisket goes...I still say heckuva call...I didn't have the nuts...I already was rooting for other motivations
