Amazing how a country of 1.7 million can get the bid over USA. Next time you want something done Mr. Obama do not send Eric Holder or Bill Clinton. Send the black panthers from Philly with their nightsticks or Lady Gaga to Zurich. We lost out on Chicago bid for Olympics. We wasted the 10 day trip to Asia as we could not get the trade agreement we wanted. Doesn't the world love us anymore?

Why would any international body EVER vote to hold an event in the U.S. again? We've made international travel to this country a nightmare. What kind of a fantasy world are you living in? No, the world doesn't love us. American hegemony has made the U.S. a target of terrorism, not a preferred destination for international travel.

So, it's Obama's fault? It's Holder or Clinton's fault? How so, exactly? Did we win any under any other president? Or more likely, is the rest of the world a little resistant to having a World Cup in the United States because it's essentially the only sport we don't dominate other than maybe some of the winter Olympic sports? Why would other countries want a soccer spotlight on the U.S? If you haven't figured it out yet, they wouldn't. Maybe it's along the lines of us calling the our nation's major league baseball championship the "World Series."
If they continue to not let us have one, despite the probable economic boon to the sport and the committee, then don't you think there's some organized resistance to the USA having it? You think the rest of the World is more against Obama than they were Dubbya? Seriously?

Why have we made international travel a nightmare? 90% of my family from europe visit the US regularly (mainly business, but pleasure as well) and I have never heard a peep about any travel issues from them. Curious as to what you are talking about.

--convictions/actions should have consequences
We should cut off all aid to counties that voted against us--and let Qatar take over those obligations.
