was -17 last week ... prob be about that or 16??? USC rolled trees huge in FH

was curious bc I have usc -10 on final end of future 4 team parlay ... nearly took it last week but had to sweat out LOU -17 and TT -3 (non-sweat after half)

Might take the cal pts for half the money on middle ... any thoughts welcome :)

thanx

USC -17.5 at CRIS. Suggest you grab SC now. This line should be somewhere north of 21 at kick. UCLA peaked 2 weeks ago against OreSt after some Houdini-like comebacks in preceding weeks. The Trojans will eat these guys and cover the spread by halftime.

WOW -17.5 seems real high. USC is playing @CAL and it is a sell out. USC's road opponents seem to always play above their heads. Tedford is an excellent coach and will use the same strategy as Weis against USC. Ball control offense. . I think last year Cal threw ZERO passes over 15 yards. Something like that. Cal has excellent OL and great RB's. Passing game isn't great but they got talent at WR. CAL will def. cover the spread if they don't turn the ball over. QB Ayoob is hot and cold. USC banged up on D. CAL will attack USC's inexperience at LB and DB. USC's starting MLB was injured against Stanford and I am guessing he is out. USC other starting outside LB has hamstring problem and sat out Stanford but will play against CAL. USC very banged up on D.

I think USC should be -13 favorites.

one more thing, ayoob didnt throw a single decent longball vs Dux, had he, they woulda won going away ... i read an article in SF Chronicle not long ago, where Tedford says they dont get to practice on full field for deep throws for reasons I forget, seems like strangest thing I ever heard on D1 team ... maybe Hurley at St Anthony plays on 2/3rds a court but not CAL? It's a wonder Tedford stayed in Bay Area.

agree with ptgard. if cal had a more reliable qb than ayoob id be all over them against southern cal. theyre one of the few teams thats not in awe of usc. but ayoob is a damn nightmare. its a shame because cal has some absolute studs in the backfield. that oregon game was there for the taking. but that incompletion on 4th down in overtime is simply a microcosm of ayoob as a player. kid was wide open in the middle of the field and ayoob air mailed it.

The spread is about where I expected it to be.

I agree withe the consensus opinion on Cal' QB - Ayoob is a boob. Hiis inexpr. and erratic throws leave me hesitant at playin the doggie. All the more frustrating as all the other off. tools are in place for Cal. :flush:

If it hits +21, I will buy...but I don't think it'll get that high.
