Law school is and was cake if you know what you are doing. Was far easier to me than undergrad, and that was at a high-caliber law school. Especially first year - geez the class is a year long and in most schools the final is all that matters. Should be out getting laid and drunk every night.
Really...I should have gone to law school then and stayed the extra couple of years...people aren't kinding when they tell you the real world sucks!

Out of curiousity, and all joking aside, where did you go Sun? I'm at Seton Hall right now, and its definately more low key than ND was academically. I totally agree, theres about 4 weeks of real work and the rest is just busy work.
All my grades so far were based on just the final and nothing else. Five hour essay exams, b/c first year courses are 5 credit one semester classes now as opposed to the old style of two semester civ pro and contracts classes. (I'm not sayin old school in a derogatory way) :)

Didnt know you were a lawyer Sun, maybe thats why we butt heads :mj07:

Derek,
My post got cut off in that one thread because it was closed, but I did reply...it was sort of long and didn't feel like doing it over right away

But I have a finance degree and currently in banking with a new company trying to work my way up the ladder...most likely I will be getting into investing eventually

the lawyers I worked for in college were Rion, Rion, and Rion...out of Dayton...they're listed in that book top 100 lawyers in the country...Ever heard of them by chance...They have been featured on American Justice on A&E for some of their cases...The big guy of the firm Jon Rion is close friends with Bruce Cutler which was cool

Had some issues when I worked for them...these guys all made a ton of money doing criminal law but some of the scum bags they would represent were ridiculous...like Gross Sexual Imposition with a minor...and these guys would laugh and joke about their clients in the morning meeting...my conscious got the better of me and I got another job...but it was awesome driving around their cars and we had a catered lunch everyday from a four star restaurant

1st year a law school is tough my buddy told me...a lot of lectures and essay exams...he told me you just got to keep up on your reading and chit

As for the S&E, yeah tough industry to get into and just like with most things its who you know...but good luck to you with what you choose to do

:topic: :mj22:

Sorry for the hijacked thread but with this crowd within this thread I am sure there has been more then one post off topic

Nah I've never heard of them but criminal law guys can be pretty sleazy guess, especially on the defense side.

Interesting you're in finance. I worked for MetLife right out of college, as a financial services rep pushing insurance, annuities, and mutual funds on people 60 hours a week. Not for me, but I think finance would have been cool if I wasnt in what was basically a sales job. I was a marketing major so I thought finance with a sales touch would be fun. BIG mistake.

Well still in Banking not quite the finance side yet I'm doing an operations side of banking but I do want to get in financial planning and I love the sales aspect to it...the company I am working for now is new and I want to see where it takes me but at the least I should get my grad school paid for by them and upper management experience...Hoping to get my big four and my CPA done as soon as possible but its going to take some time...Overall goal is to be working my for myself instead of making someone else rich

But Carroll has set recruiting records the last 3 years and this year USC has ZERO 3-star commits. All 5-star and 4-star recruits. Which is sick.
.........................................................

I hate to tell you this but just recruiting 5 star and 4 star recruits dont mean team will be NC caliber.

Alot more than that enters into it.

I believe my thread was hijacked and got way off topic. Lets get back to bashing Scott4USC or just stay the hell out of here !

There is a strong correlation with highly ranked recruiting classes and success. There also is a strong correlation with 5star and 4star recruits having more success than 3star and 2star recruits. (duh)

Here are the list of teams who have recently won and/or played for a National Championship(s).

Texas
USC
LSU
Ohio St.
Miami
OU
Florida St.

All of them have had top rated recruiting classes.

This years BCS Bowl winners had top rated recruiting classes. LSU, Texas, Ohio St. (West Virginia is the exception who beat a UGA team who didn't really care to be there, BTW UGA is a top 10 national recruiting power)

Generally the teams who win their BCS conf. are those who dominate recruiting compared to other conf. teams. OU/Texas in Big 12. LSU/Georgia/Auburn in SEC. USC in the Pac 10. V-Tech/FSU in ACC. Ohio St./Michigan in the Big 10.

Win the recruiting battles and chances are you win your conference!

*Talent "usually" wins out.
*Talent + coaching competes for National Championships!
*Coaching alone WILL NOT get it done.

I think USC is in deep shinola in 2006. They will lose early and be out of it.

Watch them future bets this year.

I hope your Dad took away your allowance.

Of COURSE you werent questioning the word sleazy...anyone with more fingers than teeth (you) and cant even spell definately knows what sleazy is

The sentence was supposd to be "sleazy I GUESS"

Looks like your sentence construction is about as accurate as your capping. :mj07: :s4:

Either way, maybe you should take the $250 you are about to throw away betting on losers and buy an encyclopedia set, because Sleazy and Guess are BOTH real words... if they deliver to your trailer park that is, Scrub
