last week it was -4 and -5 ...

if you truly think trojans are over rated, lucky etc; heres your shot to take 6 pts and Stoops or Tubby ... for me, I have usc 9/2 to win it all, and personally think they are slightly better than either team but put their unis on other two teams and they could be #3 off what they did this year ... a lil healthier now and big game exp. might pull them thru in orange bowl ... since usc got screwed LY they got nod to start season as #1 and never lost, this year they are getting benefit of doubt ... OU and USC escaped various either/or games; Auburn only had one Houdini ...

I do think Stoops has better shot than auburn, just dont trust Tubby in marble game ...

predicting OU/Usc in finale, and line will be anywhere from 3-7 depending on this week's games ...

if colorado wins I will have to laugh

give Stoops 4 weeks to prepare his defense and I will take the points with Jason White, Mark Clayton, Adrian Peterson, and the nation's best O-Line in the Orange Bowl.

I got my 5k to win 17.5k USC future wager to win NC going. I am praying USC will be -7pt favorites over OU/AU in Orange Bowl. I think it will be USC -4.5. Hopefully USC blows out UCLA, and OU/AU have close games. Then USC will be -7pt favorites.

I will say this. If USC plays OU (likely) then I think I def. will hedge my bet. Prob. put 5k on OU ML and try and get +200 or better. I think OU is much more dangerous to USC than AU.

If USC plays AU, I def. will NOT be hedging my bet.

That all said, I am hoping for USC/AU matchup! I am more confident in USC beating AU than OU and I hate hedging bets. OU scares me enough that I would force myself to hedge and hedge a large portion of it.

pt1gard, where are you seeing -6? I am liking that the number is rising.

OU held the juggernaut at FSU to zero points in 2000 and held LSU to 14 with 4 first downs in the second half. The D will be ready.

Bob Stoops defense last 4 bowls:

FSU: 2 points (not attributed to defense)
Arkansas 3 points
Washington State 14 points
LSU: 14 points (7 i believe was a Jason White broken hand TD)

not too sure Bobby Stoops' defense with new ripped off redshirt frosh playing well along with Perkins back is going to get scorched too badly by a weak pac10 team with a questionable o-line and young receiving corps

I don't understand why so many people put down the OU defense. Especially their secondary. OU did give up 35pts in back to back games but the 2 starting DB's in both games have been replaced. Getting back Perkins is huge for OU and makes big difference. In addition, OU defense did NOT give up all 35pts. If I remember correctly, bonehead errors helped contribute to the opponent scoring 35pts. Also both games were on the road.

Very impressive but I think WSU would have beat OU if their QB was not seriously hurt. FSU lost thier OC before the bowl game and that hurt FSU offense vs the outstanding OU defense. (look at the FSU offense since he left) Arkansas & LSU were never great offensive teams.

Not sure why you think USC is a soft team. Have you watched the last 2 1/2 years of Carroll and Chow? USC is not a soft team. If you think so, I would love to here why.

You are right about the O-Line and WR's. However, USC has not been healthy at the WR position all year until now. Then again, USC doesn't need great WR production when you have outstanding RB's who can catch the ball AND have outstanding TE's as well. The O-Line is young but very talented.

I think it is safe to say OU has not faced a team like USC and vice versa. However, USC playing CAL will benefit them much more vs OU having played Texas. Don't ya think? CAL IMO is a better team than Texas and a much much more explosive offensive team. Plus a better coached team. Cal I think is ranked top 5 both offensively and defensively in the country while playing a highly ranked SOS. Pretty impressive.

White vs Leinart
Peterson vs Bush/White
OU great OL vs USC great DL
Stoops D vs Chow O
Stoops vs Carroll (prob. the 2 best coaches in CFB)
2 schools with great tradition
Both started and stayed at #1/#2 in polls.
Both played top 15 SOS's
West coast vs Midwest

Should be the best National Championship game in a long long time. Will be the easiest game ever to market.

Not exactly. USC was ranked #1 unanimously in both polls prior to bowl season. After the bowl games, AP kept USC #1 and Coaches Poll was forced to vote LSU #1. As a result we got a split national championship.

AU is ranked 3rd in both polls. It is unfortunate AU might go undefeated and not play for a championship but this is the system. Just like many thought OU didn't deserve to go to the title game last year, but it is the system. If AU played a better OOC schedule, I think they would be ranked #2 in the BCS. It is pretty much dead even in the polls but AU is getting killed by the computers. If AU played tougher OOC, they most likely pick up more POLL VOTES and they would be prob. #1 in the computer polls. They would be playing for the National Championship.

That all said, AU still could win a share of the NC if they get left out of the Orange Bowl. They just need USC to lose and the AP to vote them #1. Coaches once again will be forced to vote the Orange Bowl winner NC.

There will not be many people that will vote Auburn over the winner of the Orange Bowl no matter who it is. Especially when Auburn plays an inferior team in the Sugar Bowl.

In all three games that they played against a team with an offensive line, they got manhandled (44-157 against VaTech, 34-141 against Cal, 37-195 against ND). You can talk all you want about a vanilla defensive scheme, but SC was shooting their safeties and backers through gaps in the FIRST drive against ND. When they guessed right and weren't bulled over, they stopped the Irish. When they didn't, ND had huge gains. Give Peterson some holes like I saw on Saturday and he'll be gone. No matter how much they pay the overpriced DLine, when they took on a block, they got buried.

SC looked very impressive in the pass offense, but ND has made BC and Pitt's QB's look good and got Orten to the top of the Heisman race. They couldn't run against ND, even though they had 6 and 7 in the box.

Will be all over OU (or Auburn) on the ML, but will have even more on the over as Leinhart is superb and his receivers have improved greatly from week one to now.

For starters, CAL and V-Tech are great teams. V-Tech was the 1st game of year and USC traveled across country. CAL was at home along with ND.

You wrongly quoted V-Tech's rushing yards. V-Tech had 34 rushes for 141 yards. What you left out on your original quote was that V-Tech QB rushed 17 times for 82 yards. V-Tech RB's rushed 17 times for 59 yards = 3.4ypc. FINAL RESULT= V-Tech scores 13pts.

CAL has the best offense in the country IMO. Rogers was on "FIRE" against USC and CAL also has super talented RB's. RB Arrington is just as good as Peterson. CAL is not OU so he does not get as much pub but he is every bit as good. Maybe not the freak AD is but def. as productive.
Despite CAL QB Rogers playing flawless, despite CAL having an awesome OC, despite CAL being an experienced team, despite CAL having great RB's...the final result = Cal scored 17pts against USC.

ND did great job running the ball against USC. USC was very sloppy in the game on D and ND did play well. I was impressed by ND and how TY had his team prepared. That said, ND had 195 yards rushing but take a look at the 2h stats and the adjustments made by USC. But more importantly, how about shutting out ND in the 2h. The final result= ND scored 13pts against USC. Not too bad when you could say that was the worst defensive performance by USC all year and it was in bad weather conditions. BTW, ND has a great frontline that stopped the USC rushing attack all night long. VERY IMPRESSED! Unfortunately, USC has a balanced offensive attack.

Factoid:

USC has only allowed 2 running backs to rush over 100 yards in the last 2 years + this season. Both times were against CAL. USC has stopped many NFL caliber RB's from rushing under 100 yards. Sproles, Chris Brown, Julious Jones, Cadilac Williams 2x, Ronnie Brown 2x, Onterio Smith 2x, Stephan Jackson 2x, Chris Perry (who won best RB award), and maybe some others I cannot think of. ALL THOSE PLAYERS ARE PLAYING IN THE NFL NOW AND WERE AWESOME RB"s OR WILL BE PLAYING IN THE NFL NEXT YEAR! So if USC held all those great RB's under 100 yards rushing, how is this a soft team? half the DL played last year and this year. Same coaches. Same philosophy. Same results. Name a team who has stopped that many GREAT running backs in the last 2 years? But then you think USC is soft? This is def. the best defense under Pete Carroll.

USC is not a soft team. Hopefully OU thinks that, because I feel if a team is soft it is OU.

Last year Michigan fans thought USC was soft. 2 years ago Iowa fans thought USC was soft. Hopefully OU this year will think USC is soft. :)

what happens if 2 of these or all three lose this weekend. It is very farfetched but what the hell would happen then. Say auburn and Okla both lose, what about usc and okla both lose or vice versa. this would create a major shitstorm would it not??
