I saw a game there a few years back. I was impressed. You could walk around campus and the stadium and it felt at least like a college atmosphere. Never been to the horseshoe or the swamp, just saying.

The colliseum is like 4 freeways bumper to bumper, expensive parking. Starbucks in the stadium. And don't forget if you walk 15 feet away from the parking lot you are in the hood of all hoods.

Don't be scared of Griese tomorrow Bobby. He will prevail.

I agree with Griese.

Michigan's got a nice campus, but it's not the intimidating place that PSU, Iowa, and Madison is. I've never been to the coliseum, it just seems like there's a lot of space.

If someone could turn off this Irish offensive juggenaut, I'd be pretty happy.

Wasn't meant to sound like a prick. It sounded like you had a question.

My relationship with KOD is special, it's not like I stalked him by going through all of his posts since he came to madjacks, because that would be pathetic

It sure is nice to see some arguments on here, without me involved. :grins:

Mark May just said on ESPN that the Stanford upset was bigger than the App State upset, and I thought that was horribly moronic. I come here to see that most of you agree?

App. State is the bigger upset because they are a 1AA school. Seems obvious to me.

You can take a nap in the Big House. There is no home field advantage besides the fact that Michigan recruits better than the teams they play. Just like the Coliseum.

agree about the Big House. Only place you will find a quieter crowd of 105,000+ would be at a presidential funeral or something of that magnitude. Much, much louder at Kinnick in Iowa City with only 70,000 in attendence than a game in Ann Arbor. The horseshoe is the loudest place I've ever seen a game at, though.

If that's the reasoning, then I guess we need to wait to see what USC does next week, huh.

The type of athletes that Stanford has the ablity to recruit versus App St isn't even comparable.

Sorry Saint... not trying to pick a fight, but I disagree again. The admission standards at Stanford are ten times what they are at App. St. Stanford will not bend their academic requirements for athletes.

And App. St. is the defending national champion in D1-AA.... and while it is was a shocking win for them in the Big House I still feel that Stanford's win is more shocking, stunning, whatever.

Is it deer season down your way yet?

It was pretty quiet in Kinnick last weekend when I was there for the Hoosiers victory. :00hour

I was in the boat that the App St. win was not as big of an upset as it was a shocking event due to the difference in division.

Not taking who the schools are and where they play but merely going on opposing talent levels, I feel that the Stanford upset last night was a bigger feat.

Taking into consideration that USC has to be one of the most intimidating teams for anyone to face adds to my feeling on this as well.

We've been the best team every season from '02 to '06*. I hate the word dynasty, but that's still pretty impressive.

It was a bad loss yesterday but the funny thing about it is that this is really not a terrible loss from a BCS perspective. The BCS values strength of victory, not strength of loss. If Stanford ends up being our only loss then that gives us quality wins at Cal, Oregon, ASU and Nebraska**. A loss at Cal, for example, would have been much more damaging to Conference or National Championship hopes.

I will say that this is the biggest*** loss I can remember in college football. When I was tailgating I even asked a friend if this would be worse than VT's loss to Temple at home several years back. I think it probably was because this USC team has shown the ability to be a heck of a lot better than that VT team.

* - Yes, Texas beat us fair and square in '05 and OSU has an argument that they were better in '06. I refuse to hear shrill rhetoric from OSU '02, LSU '03, Auburn '04 or U of F '06, however.

** - Nebraska may have to be removed from that list at some point.

*** - read: most embarrassing
