I only have one question. Let's say the USC athletic department is totally corrupt. I don't know why the NCAA would choose to ignore their egregious misconduct while hammering others. Tht's what I don't understand. Surely there are universities with richer alumni and far more important graduates, so why let them skate?

Your question is tough to come up with an answer for, except maybe that SC is huge for ratings out west.

A more difficult question to answer is how does a poor kid from New Jersey, like Jarret, find the $5K he paid rent to Lienart's dad(which consequently is $17K less than fair rental value for a 3 million condo)? Furthermore, how did Lienart's dad afford a 3 million dollar condo on a $75K-$80K utility company salary?

These questions you pose are only symptoms of the corruption. Those reallly are not the BIG questions because they are obviously not NCAA sanctioned actions.

You make the assertion, which seems to be true. But why does the NCAA give USC a pass? When did the NCAA or any other body of importance give a rat's ass about what happens in the west? The east is always the prime spot.

I'm not disagreeing with your premise, I'd just like to have you fill in the biggest question - WHY? Is there some sort of conspiracy within the NCAA to protect USC? Does someone connected with the university have such clout that the NCAA (who answers to no one, Congress included) craps in their pants every time something negative comes up in the USC program?

My guess - Garrett gets fired, which is good news for almost any USC fan. Uncle Pete complains about all the issues the NCAA causes and bolts for the pros again. This guy has one of the biggest egos ever seen and I can't help but think he will move on. The prospect of having to play Barkley again next year should spur him on.

As an Alabama fan, I disagree to some extent. We got bitch slapped several years ago (deservedly so). One of few big name programs that the NCAA went after.

Definitely agree on the smaller schools. I always laugh when I read that Northwestern State Southeast's Women's Tennis Program was but on probation, but the USC's and Notre Dame's never seem to have anything happen to them.

Just because no accusations have been made doesnt mean that they are clean as a whistle. I'm pretty sure every university these days cheats to some extent. The ones that want to win anways :sadwave:

Exactly... We were put on probation... If you think ND players are driving around in Land Rovers or having parents staying in 500,000.00 dollars while their son is in college or Sanchez staying in a three million condo then you're foolish. Your hatred for ND is laughable. ND actually graduates their players, once again, they lead all Universities in graduation rates at 98%... Do you really want to compare that to Alabama? It would be embarrassing.

No shit they suck! The point is at least they try and maintain the term student-athlete. I'm replying to the poster who was comparing ND to USC and Alabama which is laughable.
