USC season opener vs. Hogs moved up one week

LOS ANGELES -- The date of Southern California's season opener at Arkansas has been moved up seven days to Sept. 2, the school said Tuesday.

The starting time of the game, to be televised by ESPN, hasn't been determined.

USC's second game will be played Sept. 16 against Nebraska at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The Trojans defeated Arkansas 70-17 at the Coliseum last season -- part of a 34-game winning streak that ended Jan. 4 with a 41-38 loss to Texas in the Rose Bowl.

USC also said it has added season-opening games against Idaho on Sept. 1, 2007, and against San Jose State on Sept. 5, 2009.

The Trojans had a 48-4 record during the last four years, playing in BCS bowl games following each season and winning three of them.

Idaho and San Jose St?!?!?!? Yeah, they've gone out of their way to schedule some real powerhouses..... :mj07: :mj07:

Nebraska...and I know this game was probably scheduled when Neb. was still a power house team and this team could be back on the rise but I can't see SC having too much a problem with them this season at home...I think they will have their troubles with the two Arizona teams this season and I think they lose the first game of the season and the fact that its on the road and with young skilled position players getting their first start is trouble too...SC has two or more losses this season

You amaze me! sh-t head play LSU, Bama, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, arkansas, South Carolina, etc week in and week out and see how many games your golden ass holes win!! Not like pitt, navy, mich st hell vandy is better than all those! Talk about weak ooc schedules all you want but when you play in a real conference you need a break here and there. SEC teams dont have to get up for one or two knock down drag outs a year. Its more like 7-8 of them! Fact!! Think about that!! Same goes for Pac-10 weak as they come conference!

LOL in the last 3 seasons, ND has played:
USC 3 times
Michigan 3 times
Tennessee 2 times
Florida State 1 time
Ohio State 1 time
Boston College 2 times
Pitt 3 times
Purdue 3 times

Pitt and Purdue were weak in 05 but had great 03 AND 04 campaigns, when ND played them as well

Dont even TRY to play the ND has a weak schedule card. I count AT LEAST 10 GAMES against perennial college football powerhouses in a 3 year span, so rethink that one

ND normally has a pretty tough schedule IMO. Not the hardest by any means but they are a big name with a huge following so alo5t of schools will try to schedule them. I would imagine that since they have been mediocre for 15 years that most schools would love to have a big name easy W on their card. That will change next year though, im sure they will keep some respect in a BCS bowl nextyear.

Over the last 3 years says it all! The teams I listed play 7-8 games against each other every year!! Lsu played over the last three years: Florida 3
bama 3
Auburn 3
tenn 3
georgia 5
oklahoma 1
miami 1
iowa 1
Big difference!! Not even counting Arkansas, South car, vandy or mississippi schools which at points during the last three years were as good or better than a few on your list.

Thats the point: 10 games in three years against good teams
LSU this year: tenn ranked in top 5 at the time of game
Auburn top 10
bama top 5
georgia top 5 (ithink) Top 10 for sure
Miami top 10
Probably others this year but havent got time to look. Thats all this year.Match that?? SEC is strongest football conference bar none. Everybody knows that. May not admit it but they know it. Not saying there arent better teams elsewere but top 6-8 teams in SEC better than any other conference every year!

Umm, correct me if I'm wrong, but only ONE of those teams was even CLOSE to a national title in the last 3 years!! Furthermore, of the teams you've played more than ONCE, there are 3 combined BCS appearances in the last 3 years! Michigan and USC ALONE have combined for 5 BCS appearances, 3 BCS wins.

You shouldnt count what a team was ranked "when they played" because we all know that the final count is what matters. To give LSU credit for LOSING to a pathetic Tennessee team just because they were mistakenly ranked as a top 5 team preseason only HURTS your argument because Notre Dame beat that exact same team "numbnuts"

OK whatever! SEC 3 of top 5 ranked recruiting classes!! Bend that around also!! SEC does it on the field and building for years to come 46 0f top 150 espn recruits and counting! Your right people are jealous of winners and SEC is that! Beating the best week in and out and still chugging along! When has Notre been close to a national Championship? 10 years or more! Correct me if I am wrong LSU won it in 2003 Auburn was undeafeated last year and should have played for it! how many bcs appearances does notre have in last three years? Watch the draft see how many SEC players are taken! Everyone knows were the talent is. SEC best period! If LSU or Florida or any of top six SEC teams played USC'S or Notre schedules they would be alot better off than they are playing in the sec!! Yeah you beat Tennessee on down years for them! Whoopeee You lost to Mich St which 9 out of 12 SEC teams would beat! You also beat Navy,Syracuse, BYU,Stanford,Purdue, washington, and Pitt EVERY SEC TEAM WOULD LOVE TO PLAY ALL THESE TEAMS!! GEEZZZZ Find an SEC team with that weak crap on the schedule!! LOOOOOOLL

common opponents:

Tennessee

ND won, LSU lost

I would LOVE to have seen LSU go undefeated given ND's schedule last season, PLEASE!! USC, Michigan, bowl game against OSU, you are on CRACK!!

This post was about strength of schedules. After I proved how ND plays just as good or a better a schedule over the last 3 years, you change the subject. I would too if I was losing an argument.

Mich St thats worse than Tenn Forget about Katrina? devistation? game moved from Sat night to Monday? Flying to AZ St instead of Home game weekl before? No excuses but all happened. Michigan sux and ohio st no offense! LOL You kill me!!

You are definitely the dumbest person I have ever seen. SEC 3-3 in Bowl games. Wow, that's impressive. Auburn got their ass whopped by Wisconsin. SEC is no better than the Big Ten. Get a clue.

I agree DD,
During the season I thought the SEC was the real deal but after the bowl games and now looking back I have to give the edge to the Big Ten last season considering they had two BCS teams whom both won their games.

Umm ok. Phil Steele, far more credible than me or you does strength of schedule rankings every season AFTER the season is over. Guess what?
ND 8th
LSU 44th

theres an example of an expert that agrees with me. So there goes your "anybody that knows anythign about sports" theory

humiliated once again. This is becoming routine for you isnt it?

Phil Steele is a scam-dicapper that makes money off of idiots that pay him for picks or buys his mags. (Guess your one!) College football is all propaganda and politics. NFL scouts routinely say the SEC is by far the most talented conference in football. I think they know more than phil steele. Embarrassing for you maybe not me! DD Northwestern drilled Mich St which beat Notre Lames azz So what are you telling me?? LOL Auburn didnt show up SC gives up 21 point lead GA spots WV 28 and barely looses Could have been 5-1 easily!! Or undeafeted! Jealousy is a green eyed monster!
