one unit parlay mercer +2-/under133- : just throwing a unit on this parlay because of the situation. utc is playing their fifth game in 10 days, and has two more conference road games in the next 5 days. its a sadistic feature of the southern conference schedule this time of year. last time the mocs played 5 games in 10 days was back at the end of November in Monroe, la , and that game went under by 18 pts.
meanwhile, mercer is 11-0 s/u at home. they lost 74-62 in Chattanooga a month ago by 12 as a 5 point dog, and trail utc by a game in the conference standings. total in that game was 127-. theyre shorthanded right now with two key players suspended (who could/might return tonight)and, tragically, just had a teammate shot 3 days ago in a driveby (funeral is tomorrow). day after shooting they had to play the citadel, beat them and covered. game went under by 5. theyre in the middle of their own string of 5 games in 10 days, with big road games coming up at Wofford and furman.
lot of ifs in this game. will suspended players return? no word yet that I know of. can mercer maintain their intensity? no idea, but I know they play in a small gym and for the citadel game day after the shooting they had 1000 or so OVER capacity in attendance. and with both teams situation, its hard for me to imagine that either team wants to play up tempo. just seems like a spot for a parlay flyer.
