UT Arlington will be minus starting guard Jalen Jones for the Sun Belt tournament semifinal Texas State on Saturday and possibly longer with an injured hand.

A school spokesman confirmed the injury Friday night.

Jones, who has started every single game this season for the top-seeded Mavericks (25-7), ranks second on the team in scoring at 12.4 points a game. A 6-2 senior from Cedar Hill, Jones suffered the injury during the second half of a 74-51 quarterfinal win over Coastal Carolina.

Junior forward Kevin Hervey, the Sun Belt player of the year, paced the win with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jorge Bilbao added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
