Palmer U33.5 comp -125 5dimes
This line makes me go hmmm. Palmer is 1 for 9 against this number this season, completing 34 agaist Texas Tech, which was a shootout with OT. The next 2 highest completion games he had 25 and 26 against SMU and New Mexico (and SMU is dead last in Conf USA in #comp allowed pg at 24.6).
UAB is 5th in Conf USA D in pass completions, giving up 14.3 a game. Against Memphis and East Carolina (ranked 4 and 5 in #comp pg in Conf USA---the highest ranked teams UAB has played this year in this stat) UAB allowed 20 and 22 completions, about average for those teams. And UAB won both games. UAB 3rd in Conf USA in interceptions and UTEP is second to last (by one int) in ints thrown. So it's not like UAB is getting blown up by passing teams.
The only pause for me is the game between these two last year. Palmer completed 33 and it was clear that UTEP's gameplan was dink and dunk passes all the way. UTEP lost that game BTW, so maybe they rethink that plan tonight.
I like this play, but not as much as my recent sack play, particularly at -125. Medium play.
