UTSA +13.5 over Texas ***
Roadrunners beat Army in OT last week after losing the week before in triple OT to Houston. UTSA was not going to allow Army to run them over. So Army because of stacked defense threw the ball and passed for over 300 hundred yards and broke passing records . But UTSA held Army's rushing attack under 180 yds well below their avg. So I guess Traylor the UTSA coach said a few years ago when Army beat us at home running the same option. Lets stop the run and make them beat us in the air. Well it worked because UTSA won in Overtime Saturday at Army 41-38. Now Texas should of won vs Bama but made everybody see Texas can play defense. A tough loss for Texas and emotional Plus Ewers the frosh qb who was looking so good is out with a clavicle injury. Card came in and although did pretty well Texas changed its offense and went " more Vanilla ". Card was banged up and although he is listed as a starter he could be out so Texas could be starting their 3rd string qb.
I like UTSA and their offense with Harris is explosive . Although Texas defense played spectacular vs Bama and their game plan really held the No 1 team think a lot of credit goes to Gary Patterson the former TCU coach that was fired last year. Although he is not the def coordinator he is listed as an associate coach of Texas but everyone knows its his defense . He scares me because Texas can play defense now where last yr they were terrible
UTSA qb Harris can throw and run. He has 3 wr's that are quick and have hands . They miss Sincere in the backfield and his replacement was Brady who was ok . UTSA must stop bijon Bama did an excellent job on him Think with possibly a 3rd string qb Traylor will have his defense concentrate on Robinson and Worthy . Texas although won a morale victory still lost the game UTSA has already seen Houstons Tune and Armys running attack . This is the " super bowl" for the Roadrunners . Think they have some momentum and would love to knock off the Longhorns gotta run back later

UTSA might not be able to run vs Texas. but think Traylor has his kids playing on another level. With Ewers not playing and Card's ankle really sore Wright and Rochan will be at qb. Think Traylor's defense will to able to stop or slow down Bijon and Roadrunners are athletic and fast on defense. I heard tonite on the news that this was UTSA's super bowl. Wait a minute I said that already a few days ago. UTSA offense is not in question. Its there defense but vs Houston 2 weeks ago they played well and vs Army although they gave up over 40 points Army is a tough team to compare too. Don't think its a blowout Think UTSA plays Texas even throughout the game and Texas wins by a td. Have tickets to the UNLV-North Texas game in Vegas. Heading out tomorrow to Vegas .

Think again Roadrunners keep this close . Texas is banged up with possibly 3rd string qb starting. Texas getting accolades for losing all week. You lost even though it was vs the No 1 team in the country. You are playing a team a few years ago that wasn't even in D-1 football. Very few Roadrunners playing Texas HS football weren't even recruited by Texas. This Saturday you are playing them in their home stadium and all you hear about is how Texas almost beat Bama. UTSA is only 80 miles down the road and although the Texas coaching staff isn't taking this game to lightly think the players are. Harris is a dual threat qb and texas defense did do a good job last week vs Young. But Harris has 3 wrs that can break one and a good experienced OL. UTSA saw an outstanding qb 2 weeks ago vs Houston in Tune and held Army's rushing attack .. Not sure if UTSA can pull off an upset but defiantly keep this close. UTSA as an underdog has covered and is dangerous .
Leaving for Vegas tonite Going to the North Texas-UNLV game game. Think my computer will work out there. If not these are my picks for saturday
North Texas +2.5 over UNLV **
Tx St +30 over Baylor **
Rutgers -18 over Temple *****
Houston -9 over Kansas ****
WKU +6 over Indiana **

Best bets UTSA,Rutgers and Houston

Deep in the heart of Texas
Box,
As an East Texas native I saw Traylor's magic in Gilmer. He is a great coach. You are right on acknowledging Gary Patterson's defensive transformation with the Texas D. Still unsure if Texas covers. Just hoping for a win.

domyderm last year at one of UTSA's game be had the HS team and every able body including his mother from Elmer ...at the game. His mom was sitting in the middle of the stands with the Elmer crew. I know he won 4 or 5 state championships at Elmer and his entire staff at UTSA are HS coaches . He knows and recruits those 2 stars athletes and makes them 4 stars. Texas the past few years before Sark recruited the 4-5 stars and they never developed... I don;t think any Texas graduates were drafted by the NFL this year. Maybe a late rounder . Patterson scares me when I am playing against Texas. I know Texas has improved its defense this year. Its pass rush is better,DL is much better and secondary has so much speed. LB's are athletic . Bama had a tough time vs Texas. But Harris at UTSA is a dual threat and his wrs, and Off line are solid. Not sure about running game . Texas has the talent and recruits to blow the Roadrunners right back to San Antonio and think this is a dog fight.

UTSA +13 over Texas *****
enough said on this game Think its a dog fight with Texas winning by a td. Love the points here

Houston -8 over Kansas ******
Love the coogs here. Kansas coming off a great game vs Tenn Tech and WV . They were 2-10 last yr but last 3 games beat Texas in OT and lost to TCU and WV 28-31 and 28-34. Leipold doing a great job at KU. But Jayhawks haven't see a qb like Tune and a wr like Dell Houston was down by 2 tds to Tex Tech last week and forced ot. The week before they won in 3 ots to UTSA. Think Coogs wake up a little and Tune will pass and run tp a cover victory .

Rutgers -17 over Temple *****
Schiano is back despite losing his last 3 games in the B-10 Rutgers won last year 61-10 and for the 1st time those New Jersey HS kids are staying at home. This game has blowout written all over

Texas St +31 over Baylor **
Was at the tex St game last week .They blew out FIU who looked really bad but Hatcher the tex qb looked good and Hill looked good at running back I was at last years Baylor Tex St game and took Baylor -14. Tex St covered losing by only 9 points so I want my $ back .

North Texas +3 over UNLV *****
Money line ***
I am at the game here in Vegas tomorrow Wrong team favored . Mean Green will win outright so don't need any points . Am going to actually cheer in the stands . It always seems like I go against the teams I like . Pat Boone might be dead,Mean Joe Green isn't showing up, Trini Lopez is in a home but Box and one will be there cheering on to victory the Mean Green of North Texas .
good luck tomorrow
