well, no defiinitive info but UW is backed into a dangerous spot here ... I dont like their guards but at home and 0-2 they desperately need a win ... zona hanst lost since opener vs VA and blew a 18 pt lead ... Lute has had trouble with poor UW teams in past here while bringing in talented teams of his own ... really like zona's squad and not high on UW pansy schedule, been crushed by bruins and zags and won here vs unimpressive LSU and 3/11 Big Baby...

im not betting this one but sense UW might pull it out ... Huge game for litmus of Husky program this year ... Is it me or is Lute whining more each year? Used to be one of my fave coaches, still like him a lot, but he lost some of his edge a while back IMHO

tough game but of course i love arizona tonight...think the guard play will kill uw

as for lute.....next time i see him rolling on the ground, like romar vs sc, crying for a call.....will be the first time i see him on the ground.

lute cant roll, hed mess his hair, but he sure does whine a lot tho, hehe...

anyhow, just saw Romar in his coach's show and he mentioned both games were lower scoring last year ... maybe they feel one another out, but he said he had no feel for this game howd it go tempo wise etc

take care

well, the game in tucson was low scoring 70-67 or so but the game in seattle was 95-94 (but in 2 ot) think it was high 70's at end of reg (78-78 or so)

actually lute is whining less and less....just think he saves it for big games and i expect him to not let the refs job arizona tonight

oliver, detmon, appleby......14 combined points

guard play will kill this team but if poindexter and nelson play this way all the time they should be okay with hawes and brockman inside.....problem is think they both played game of their lives

uw is still alive for 3rd in the conf as uw-ore-sc-wsu all seem pretty equal, but off to an 0-3 start they are in a hole

funny how stubborn coaches get, how romar could sit in a 2-3 the ENTIRE 2ND HALF, never once playing m2m amazes me, zona blistered it for 80% fg or so in 2nd half and yet he never tried another path ... congrats to zona, wished game woulda come down to final minute seeing how great it was for 36 ... UW also turned to QP as 'go to' when down 4 pts on 3 straight plays, ummmm, isnt Hawes a better option????

romar make some strange coaching decisions in game.....he looked brilliant in the 1h by bringing qp off the bench...then fell flat on his face by playing 2-3 zone the entire half while arizona carved that defense up with wide open threes (or by hitting the high post then finding a baseline cutter, usually m-will, every time).....plus that 2-3 zone coaching decision helped ua stay fresh as it was obvious lute wasnt going to the bench at all in the 2half.

thanks romar

guess my uw buddies prediction a week ago of wash getting a 1-2 seed is a bit off......and he laughed at me when i said they were a 4-5 type seed at best....with 3rd at best in the conf at 5-6 losses............think he'd beg for those right now.

you are right gjn, romar coached a horrible 2nd half and i was kinda surprised when their depth seemed to wear zona down in fh, but of course nelson and qp not missing shots helped immensely ... watched marcus since 5th grade play up here, used to work with him 1 on 1 a lot too ... always knew he would be slippery to defend, grew like weed in jr high ...
