Hi Guys

Heading out to Vegas in the beginning of July. Thinking about staying at Excalibar because its pretty cheap. How much am I looking at for cab rides from there to the Bellagio area? Any other tips for when I am out there? Also looking to hang out at the pools for a couple of the days. Any suggestions on that? Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think that's pretty walkable. I know Excalibur is just further down the strip, maybe a couple of blocks?

My advice to you -

Luxor is much nicer than Excalibur. And they are about the same price. (I mean much nicer BY A MILE!!!!)

DO NOT LET THEM FUCKING CABBIES GO THE EXPRESSWAY TO LUXOR OR EXCALIBUR FROM THE AIRPORT!!!!! THEY WILL ASK!!! Make them go on the main strip.

It is $12 from the airport to Luxor - probably $15 to Excalibur if the traffic is heavy.

I recommend getting a monorail pass if you plan on going up and down the strip a lot. Million times cheaper than cabs.

GO TO THE ARIA HOTEL - but don't eat there. Eat at Bellagio if you want a nice restaurant.

Want cheap food in a food court style setting? Go to the Venetian. Best food court in the city and same price.

Buffet's? Check out Jack's recent thread about Vegas Buffet's.

I stayed in 3 hotels while in Vegas and found the rooms and comfortable beds to be the best at Rivera Shit Ass Casino. $75 dollars a night and their beds were cleaner, newer and more comfortable than Paris Casino. Trust me. They were renovated in December last year. Nice for the money.

Paris is best hotel for the money though. Great service and all night food possibilities. Connects to Harrah's.

Cabbies will try to take you for a ride all the time - just stay on the strip and you should be fine. Don't let them take expressway UNLESS you are going from bottom of strip to the top. Then LV BLVD will eat the meter.

Walk.......not a far walk at all....15 minutes or so

Wow. I didn't think it was even that far. I was thinking 5-10 minutes. Then again, it's been a few years since I've been to Vegas so I can't remember the layout all that well.

Walk across the street to Venetian and then walk down that side of the street. An entertaining walk.

Why the fuck would you walk from the airport? (With luggage for fuck's sakes!)

Anyone who says they walk to their hotel from the airport are either liars or love to inconvenience themselves.

exactly. He just wanted to argue when we had the discussion. I believe he takes the shuttle though, and I don't recommend that either because of all the stops. But, sponge is in no hurry :nono:

Hi Guys

MadJack CheapAss Special :SIB

The Duce Bus a double decker bus that travels up and down the Las Vegas Strip 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Deuce route begins at the Fremont Street Station downtown and ends at the south end of the strip at the South Strip Transfer Terminal which is on the south side of McCarran International Airport.

Easy to use and the buses are brand new. You want to make your way up to the second floor and try to get one of the front seats. This is a great way to see the Las Vegas Strip. The bus makes frequent stops along the strip and you can get to any of the Strip Hotels with the Deuce.

The one way fare is $3 per ride or buy the 24 hour unlimited ride pass for $7. The best deal for getting around Las Vegas. You can also use the pass on the other public buses in and around Las Vegas. They have also added a new pass, a 3 day all access unlimited ride pass for $15.

What about pools? Do you have to pay to go to different pools at the different hotels?

One other thing to mention -- be careful about doing a lot of walking if you're going at a time when it's really hot, especially if you've been drinking. It doesn't take much to get dehydrated very quickly. I know that's kinda common sense, but it's something a lot of people forget about it.

Email me a few weeks before you come out , I can hook you up with vip hosts who can get you in any club or pool, you need to use 1 of the women host i use, i have 5 they get things done top of the line just like they say vip. Don't let a cab take you any other way then down paradise to where your staying and in july all resorts should have great prices, and ask them to pick you up that time of the year they need the money, so ask if they say no say well i am staying elsewhere, don't stay at the ex do not like it there, not clean , would never eat any food from there.

ask ask ask you have lot of power during that time of the year. they need heads on the beds.

We always drive to Vegas, takes about 51/2 hours. But when visiting in Vegas, we usually take a cab, but no more. About 2 years ago we took a cab from the Monte Carlo to meet Senor Capper & Hooks at South Point & the cabbie took the scenic route. By the time that we got to SP, the fare was $25. Since the valet at the MC told us that cab fare should run no more than $15, I gave the cabbie $24 & told the cabbie to call the cops if he didn't like it & walked away. The moral of the story is to be careful when taking cabs in Vegas, & NY for that matter.

Signup for players cards. I never pay for a room and haven't for years. And, I don't gamble that much anymore either. Harrahs is very generous, so is Venetian and also, MGM/Mirage. I get offers all the time.
