Where to stay on the strip that's kid friendly and not a smoky pit.
If I am in town for 2 days what should I do for fun with kids ?
Nights are mine to hit the sportsbook - which one is the very best ?

Haven't been to Vegas in 12 years...I appreciate the feedback.

Is there must do or see and eat ?

Ok I will get bashed for this, but if you are there for 2 days and want a place that is kid friendly stay at Circus/Circus.

Yes, bring on the bashers, but little kids seem to love it, you won't like it, but the little kids will.

Of course if "the kids" are teenagers then forget what I said above.

As for Sportsbooks........you can't go wrong with this one......

Jack appreciate the advice. I'm actually headed to LA for a week and flying into Vegas (best airfare) so staying for 2 nights (so I can make a legal bet in a sportsbook and have a little fun). Based on that what do you suggest. I wanted a hotel thats not such a smoke pit (dont want to subject the kids to that)

Mandalay Bay has the family surf pool and shark attraction...(separate attractions :0002) walking distance stones throw from airport and everything Vegas....NY NY Coaster ride comes to mind, practically next door.
Bowling alleys and Casino movie houses and arcades?

Not a kid friendly town.....Vegas gave up on that experiment...

Take Dead Money's advice. The sportsbooks won't be that busy so most all are fine for watching games. The only place to get away from smoke is restaurants and poker rooms. Mandalay Bay is nice. Circus Circus is a shit hole that not only smells like smoke but vomit too.

Based on the info you guys gave me I have decided to stay at one of these non smoking hotels.

Vdara $250
MGM Signature $250
Renaissance $175
Marriott $150

When I want to gamble or hit the sportsbook i'll walk over.

Any restaurant tips ?

Good move since you have kids. :0074

Dead Money is the one for food information. I'm junk food mostly when I'm on vacation so I can't be much help in that department.

week old info from frequent visitor from Redondo Beach.

week old info from frequent visitor from Redondo Beach.

The best is Bally?s Sunday Brunch at $75/person. Lobster, caviar, king crab legs, very good oysters, prime rib, champagne, etc. etc. etc. No one comes close. Caesars has a new buffet that?s great, Wynn is great, and so is the Cosmopolitan?s. And when the billion dollar resort opens soon where Stardust used to be, they?re supposed to have a top buffet. Everyone of those are about $40-$50/person which is a real bargain. We love them and can?t get enough. Vegas still the #1 tourist spot in the U.S. so sometimes hard to get in. Last week we went to Wynn?s, wait was over 2-1/2 hours @ $50/person so we left and went to a great Japanese restaurant on Sahara.

Have never seen a King Crab leg buffet any where except here in Wisconsin.. think he doesn't know the difference My guess is they are the usual Snow Crabs!!

Couple delicious tween friendly casual joints in Cosmopolitan:
Holsteins - high end burgers, sides and shakes.
China Poblano - variety of small plate chinese and mexican dishes. Like tapas. Cool decor.

King crab legs are legit at the Wynn buffet. They fly em in fresh so sometimes they don't have em or they run out... gotta ask before you get in line. Worth the wait and the money, IMO. Still my fav buffet in Vegas year after year.

I don't get overpowered with smoke anymore in the casinos. All of them on the strip have mitigation systems in place that help a lot, and if u get a smoke free room, u will be fine. I would stick to one of the mid strip Ceasars properties to be a lot cheaper. Vdara seems like it is right on the middle of the action, but really it's behind it and not. No gambling there either.

Take the kids to Sakana for AYCE sushi. I don't think kids care too much about food, so I would save some money there and just get off the strip and try some differenc AYCE places or fast food stuff that u don't have in your area.

Nyny already mentioned for attractions as well as circus circus. Downtown Fremont also has kid friendly stuff if u can shield their eyes from the idiot performers. My niece loved the giant Jenga down there, and it was free. Kids like the M&M place too.

Everyone's tastes very on food, that's a given.

Overall the Aria Buffet to me, offers a very good $20 Breakfast $25 Lunch.....something for everyone and the high tech frozen yogurt, ice cream bar will please youngsters.

For the real family food adventure...the Dim-Sum lunch at Ping Pang Pong (Gold Coast get there 11:30) will have the entire family wide eyed as the pick your item carts roll by. Its a unique sharing foodie experience that your kids will talk about for years.

Their walnut shrimp off the menu as a shared bonus is a do not miss.

Enjoy your experience..:00hour
