Any suggestions on a good steak place or any good, nice restaurant for that matter? There are so many damn restaurants now it's hard to keep track. We're staying at the Palazzo but will go wherever.

TIA

I can give you two awesome restraunts in the Vegas area.

The first will require that you have a car of some sort because a cab ride would be a little much. It is about 10-15 miles from downtown. It is a pretty famous steakhouse called Bob Taylor's Ranch Steakhouse:

It often wins best steakhouse in Vegas.

The second place is much closer to the strip area and they will call you a cab if you ask and it will come pick you up. They are open 24 hours. The place is called "Bootlegger Bistro". It is on LV Blvd just down past the airport. It is about 8 miles or so down the strip past the last hotel area like the Luxor and stuff. Only about a $25 round trip cab ride from strip if that.
They have an excellent italian menu and the garlic bread cubes and red sauce that comes courtesy while you wait is an excellent snack until meal arrives.

Here is a little review breakdown of Vegas places:

Hope this helps.

I second the Bootlegger. It was worth the trip down there.

One of the best steaks I ever had was at Switch in Encore/Wynn.

Last trip we went to Joes Stone Crab in the Forum shops. (not Joes crab shack) Either way, none of us liked it very much.

IMO, expensive dinners in Vegas is a waste if you're out there with a bunch of guys. The nice restaurants and all the time it takes for all that crap is for treating the little woman, not a guys thing.

Hit it right on the head. never waste money on so called big name places to eat. much better places for lot less prices. Look at the ole hole in the wall. great food.

I agree but he asked for a steakhouse or a nice place to go.
I don't think he is wondering where the cleanest Del Taco is located on the strip.

Also Bootlegger is close to the strip, affordable, and with bar and flat screens showing sports and music playing. It can be either a guys place to grab some drinks and food for a break from the craziness of the crowds or a nice place to take a date.

I'm down with local places too.

Last time out we went to some local Thai restaurant in a strip mall about 15 minutes outside vegas. I think it was called Lotus of Siam. I went a bit overboard on the spicy level and my face melted.

Was not talking about bootleggers We go there lot of times and not a del taco type person , fast food is a waste of money.

was talking about over priced resort places, like where he is staying or the wynn, most any named steak house on the strip at a top resort.

Yeah I was just messin with ya.

Bootlegger is nice because it is not very well known with out of towners so it is somewhat peaceful as mostly locals frequent the place.

Steakhouse in hotels are high way robbery.
