Greetings,

I am hoping to get out to Vegas in early June and stay for 4-6 weeks. I am trying to find a place to stay that has weekly rates but have had little success online. I would prefer to stay near the Strip. Actually, I haven't been since '98 so I am not sure of the neighborhood situation anymore. I remember an apartment complex near the Hard Rock that went for $160 a week but like I said, that was years ago.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions from the natives.

Much thanks,
M

i was just there for the weekend, but stayed at mgm grand

the research i did was look at hotels.com...they had real low prices for nightly stays, but with the memorial day weekend, they went out the door...i would assume they have rooms for weekly rental...

might want to check them out

best of luck

budget suites boulder hwy or the one right behind stardust . 199 a week kitchen, bedroom, living room cable free local phone 3 pools , washers and dryers full size bath rooms ,it is where all the construction workers and strippers stay, hell you can't stay at a mega resort for that long your bill would be like 4 grand at the cheapest. it is for business people who are here for a month or so, the one on boulder hwy you want the one by sams town, the other is on the strip on stardust propity you will not beat that deal clean and safe, those are the only 2 in good spots you can't go wrong.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
the $160 by Hark Rock is still at that price. It is Harbor Island Club Apts, one block down Harmon Road from HR. 702-732-9111.

I stayed there for a few weeks in December. very nice grounds--manicured lawns, lots of palm trees, very nice pool with island and some babes, grill area, good laundry facilities, weight room.

It is a 10 min stroll to UNLV library here with high speed internet use if you show them (just for first time) some picture ID. 15 min stroll to Strip (at Alladin). HR runs a shuttle to strip during day every 30 mins. That 15 min stroll can be brutal in June when 110 degrees.

Neighborhood is fine, and getting better with high-end properties getting built on Harmon Rd. They did have a gang-banger shooting at HR few weeks back (40 9mm shells recovered in parking lot!) but you get these on strip too...

the $160 is base price, you also have $40 non-refundable cleaning fee and the 9% LV room tax. So first week there is actually $217.45. You have to bring your own linen. Each week after that is $175 or so. If you rent by the month, you then don't have to pay the 9% visitor room tax.

Budget Suites by Stardust is real nice also. long ways away from any free internet access, but 1 block from the strip. They have very nice facilities as Fletcher sez and shuttle that will take you to malls, grocery stores, etc. $199 plus that one-time cleaning fee, tax, etc makes it $286.00 to stay there one week, but the $20 security deposit and $10 key deposit is refunded. cost more for linen and maid service. 702-732-1500.

Hard Rock unfortunately doesn't have dime lines in baseball this season. Stardust certainly does!

good luck and have fun!

Fletcher and Terryray,

A big thanks to both of you. I had forgotten all about Budget Suites. I can't believe that I found someone here who actually stayed at those apartments. They did look decent when I saw them. I am going to check both of them out. Again, thanks to both of you.

By the way, I was thinking about it last night and remembered that I went to Vegas in Aug '01. I guess it was easy to forget since I stayed downtown at the Golden Nugget. Downtown just isn't my cup of tea, I guess. I think I saw only one hot chick at the pool during my four-day stay...and she had a big rock on her finger:D

Thanks again and hope to maybe meet you two soon.

Harbor Island

Harbor Island

is just that.
Harboring Hoes, Drug Dealers & some of the nastiest scum in Vegas. I lived at Paradise Bay Club Apts (near hard rock) before Harbor Island or the Hard Rock was even built. Upscale Apts before they built the Harbor Island and the nieghborhoos went downhill BIGTIME.
Your talking multiple mutiple murders in that complex.
Pack your Glock, Sig or whatever you own.

Here is a taste.......

Police probe woman's death

Review-Journal

Las Vegas police were investigating the death of a woman Saturday at the Harbor Island Club Apartments, 370 E. Harmon Ave.
Police Homicide Sgt. Rocky Alby said detectives were just beginning to process the apartment where the woman's body was found at 9 p.m. The location of the homicide was near Building M of the large complex, but a more specific location of the killing could not be discerned.
"We don't know much at this point," Alby said.
Further details on the killing were not immediately available Saturday night. Before an interview with Alby could be completed, a reporter was kicked off the property by security and management at the Harbor Island.
