I have already seen requests on this board for parties including Jeff Fassaro, Tony Perez and the entire Dback offense to perform Hari Kiri to cleanse their souls for their sins to gamblers, so let's keep this thread open for anybody who gets rooked, screwed, scheisted or just plain sh(it) on the rest of the night.

got killed on the under in CLEV, sabathia, had a great under record at home, but i didn't heed IE's info on fatigue and pitch count of him. Pitch counting WILL be one of my greater factors for capping.

I dunno, WHAT happened in boston. got mashed on the under total and the side (BOSTON).
Boston, swept at home by anaheim???
what the fawk is going on here???

the minny under, i should have known carpenter was gonna screw it up..we ALL knew minny was gonna win, but i didn't think it was gonna be a blow out. I know the jays play poorly in day games, but i didn't think they'd tank it. You'd think they'd have momentum like SF vs pitts to take the twins out on their own home turf.

and even the games I didn't bet on i was pissed off at...
holy cripes>????
what goin on with arizona???
and klesko with that grand slam in the eighth????
and texas killing the yanks in the bronx...?

cripes...maybe i should be playing more dogs...???

TV,

Dogs and faves seem to go in streaks. When you see me on a good streak, that probably means more dogs are hitting. Vice cersa for my down streaks.

To tell you the truth I would advise you to take a look at more dogs because the VAST majority of people who play faves lose money on them over the long haul. No all, mind you, but a gigantic percentage.

Roger, heckuva day. Great, great work. Looking forward to your NBA totals again. Do you play NFL?

thanks Nick...can't wait for the nfl...ncaa too...football and basketball are my favs...love baseball too...but not as strong...been on a good run lately though...this is the second night I've hit a six teamer...actually last night it went down to a five because of the rainout...but I had the under and it was looking good...oh well, can't complain...whenever you hit a six teamer like this...it is purely luck and a whole lot of help...when I play parlays I usually play more than just one...your chances are better if you mix them up a little...no what I mean?

Nick;

In your respone you said;

the VAST majority of people who play faves lose money on them over the long haul.

Not that I disagree but I for one have a tough time consistantly picking dogs. I haven't picked a winning dog in two weeks. Last night I went 7-1 all on favorites. I have made money on favorites in baseball all year. I know what I have made is pocket change compared to what you can make if you can pick dogs consistantly, but everyone should stick to what they do best. For me it is picking not only the favorites, but the right favorites. Sometimes it pans out sometimes it doesn't.

Tito,

I think it is great that you win with faves, but if you look at the profile of the average baseball gambler, it is a guy who bets a lot of faves, has some real extended good streaks, but over the course of a year or five years, finds that he consistently loses money. And most of them always feel they are just one step away from really breaking out and making money. "If I would just avoid stupid plays... or I I would just lay off big chalk..." Something like that.

That is not to say all dog bettors make money because I am sure the majority lose money overall but the fact is that over the long haul, probably less than 1% of baseball bettors will turn a profit betting faves.

Being one that does not normally play Bball, last month I started looking at it and put some small wagers on it. I first want to say, anyone that can make money off of this sport has my respect. I know that it is hard to keep the same focus day in and day out, but the fluctuations in the players performance on the diamond is beyond belief. I'll concede that occasionally football players have a bad game, but nothing compares to what happens in baseball. But I do concede that in football having a week to prepare and have some kind of game plan gives them an advantage that is just not afforded the players in baseball. After about two weeks, instead of trying to figure it out, I took a map of the US( by the way I don't recommend this) and started throwing darts at it. Whatever the team it landed on I would play, nomatter what the circumstances. In the end I made $1100 last month, but somebody help me out I know this won't last forever.

dolfan that's hilarious...LMAO! I would just keep that system up until it quits making you money!

good to see you still around...especially with football around the corner...

Tito said it best..."everyone should stick to what they do best"....once you figure that out, no matter what kind of player you are...you'll be seeing more winning nights then not...

Dogs are my favorite in baseball because of the payouts...night before last I hit with 5 dogs...last night was similar...but you have to find the right dogs with the right "chance" to win...Nick could probably elaborate more on that...

Nick, Roger,

I am not disputing that "picking the right dogs" will be more profitable in the long run, in baseball I suck at it. I'm also not touting the "pick all chalk" theory either. I do believe it will catch up to you in the long run. But so far this year it has worked for me. I still pick dogs, I just don't win on many of them thats all. I wanted to take Texas yesterday so bad I could tast it, but I am running at around 24% on my dog picks this year, so I took the over instead. I guess I have become a little gunshy thats all.
