The Detroit Tigers and ace Justin Verlander have agreed to a five-year contract extension through 2019 with a vesting option for the 2020 season, according to the club's official Twitter account. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports that Verlander will now make $180 million over the next seven years with a chance (the vesting option) to make $202 million over the next eight seasons.:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

:facepalm: That contract extension for over 200 million was and is crazy......What do the Tigers do when they have. To extend the likes of Cabrera and Scherzer and then pay your other players? You could conceivably have 75 to 80 million tied up to 3 players. :mj07: :mj07:
