milwood on saturday at (-149) is an absolute bargain. the tigers were clueless against this guy last year when he was pitching for cleveland. detroit playing a little over their heads right now and millwood should really shut this lineup down.

only game ill be playing on saturday. really feel like its worth it to pass the afternoon stuff and wait for this one at night.

made a type above. pinnacle is using -139 overnight. obviously its not going to climb to any exorbitant price but would lay anything up to 170 in this particular matchup.

gman,

I know it's early, but the Tribe look good. They proved something to me by beating Chicago on the road in their opening series. I hope C.C. isn't out too long. Without him, they have no chance. Just wait until Belliard gets going. It's only a matter of time before he starts driving the baseball again. It looks like it's going to be a tough division this year, especially if Detroit can keep it up, but I still like the Indians chances of coming out on top. Good luck!

Houston, Texas
Whenever a pitcher puts on a Texas Rangers jersey he suddenly looks like his jersey should be #96 and he is throwing BP. It is uncanny.

sun:

i know what you mean. texas and colorado are normally places where pitchers go to die. but i think millwood will break that trend of overpriced texas free agent signings. the one thing that impressed me last year was that he doesn't fu.ck around with hitters. he goes right after them and doesn't nibble. he's primarily a power pitcher and he doesn't put guys on base as a result of nibbling at the strike zone. some junk ball pitchers (park, as fattymanboobs mentioned) were destined to fail in arlington. millwood also does a solid job of working himself out of trouble. some guys implode when things get tough. he limits the damage very well. we'll see. he could be another texas flop. its certainly not an easy park to pitch in. but i think he will fare well.

yep. thankfully its in texas, though its not quite a mid-summer game where balls go 400 feet with half a swing.

Just look at their rotaton and pen. They have the offense, but if you can' t people out, doesn't matter how many runs you will score. I see them winning 75-80 games this year. You are really going to have to pick your spots with them this year bro.

How bad is Texas? Rogers was their number 1 starter, and now he is Detroits 3 or 4? Padilla can be good, but he has never had it mentally, that has always been one of his biggest complaints about him. I got to watch him pitch a lot when he was in Philly, just very inconsistent and doesn't have it all going on 'up there'.

havent been around to give this one the bump it deserves.

flat out missed the boat on this game, and kinda perplexed that texas got absolutely nothing off verlander. i know the kid is a highly regarded prospect for the tigers but for the rangers to get shut down like that was a little disconcerting.

really didnt matter how many runs millwood gave up.
one run was too many on saturday night.

just wanted to bump the thread to offer a quick apology to anyone who ended up goin down with the rangers. first loser in the few gms ive played in mlb, but dammit if this one wasnt ugly. def the wrong side.
