Viking - Saints afterthougt....

I think we should get a post game discussion about the games after they are done.. I don't care if you are fan as long as you are OBJECTIVE. Take note Green Bay fan..I think it allows people to have an indepth discussion and a logical view point aout the teams.. It may help out in the long run so I will break this down..

1. What were the Saints doing? When the Vikes were ahead at half did you think the Vikes had a chance?? To me maybe a slim chance but you could see that Saints coould do what they want.. They were ver very conservative and when you are busting off carries in the 2nd half like that then keep going.

2. Jarred Allen. I know he was doubled at times but the times he wasn't he wasn't even seen and I hate to say this but unless you take the Packers last year and a Cowboy team when the starting left tackle went out of the game, Allen has been less than spectacular.

3. The Vikes offensive line.. They played pretty damn well considering. Mckinney left on the cart and I don't know what will happen with that but the O - Line played good.

4. Defense only gave up 14 but Saints missed 2 chip shot FGs. That secondary loooked bad but it is a good omen. After week 4 the secondary should bet full strength and that will help a ton.

5. Favre was tentative but his recievers really were shit tonight.. I mean horse shit.. WOW.. You could see a definite rust.

6. Officiating.. I think the officials were pretty good.. I don't think they blew too much.. I do think Kleinsasser caught the ball when the Vikes challenged but the Vikes got the balll again anyway so they fucked that up.. Frustrating to see alll the calls go against the Vikes but most of those calls were warranted.

All in all, not a bad performance by the Vikes considering the situation. This is a team that will be much better come week 8 or 9. I really think the Saints should of blew them out tonight or won more handidly considering the Vikes inept O and penalties.. I still expect the vikes to have rust untill after the bye.. The Miami game next week will be a tough test..

Bernard was too busy in the off season showing up on Ochocinco's reality tv show instead of working on his game. Im guessing popularity is more important than productivity. I haven't looked but he must be down on the depth chart or will be very soon once Rice comes back. I remember Berrian was a number 1 receiver.

Well I am bit more sober now but the Viking fans and national media have to chill. I mean they lost to the Super Bowl champs on opening night on their home turf.. People are acting like the Vikes lost to St. Louis.. WTF did people expect. They played without 2 corners, a wr, a center who seen his first action and a WR core that hasn't been together long.. This team will still be good.. Give them a few more weeks. I think the Vikes D will be scary when Griffin and Kelly come back.. THey will be able to pressure much more.. Didn't like the fact that the D Line was pushed around in the fourth quarter but Viking fans get away from the ledge. It will be alright..

i just like to know who thought it was a good idea to scrap adrian peterson for the 2nd half and just rely on favre with his bad ankle and just pass it on ever 1 down ap looked like he could almost bust a big run off at anytime. Must been alot of money on the prop for ap to go over 90 yds rushing since they stoped giving him the ball when he hit 86

If I were a Vikings fan I would be bitching that Favre should have been in training camp all along. It's obvious that the timing and reps arent there yet with the WR's, you get that in August, not game 1 in Sept.

I know the Vikes want to win and have no shot without Brett, but the team has to make a decision who their future QB will be. Right now, all their eggs are in Favre's basket and he knows it. I like Favre, but every year he misses preseason like it's a chore to be there, that says alot about his mentality.

Another thing for Viking fans.. I wish they would play Peterson in a single back mode until at the goal line.. Tahi SUCKS I am sick of that fucker as the lead blocker..
