KANSAS CITY CHIEFS -3 - Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil was none too pleased after last week?s awful 24-6 home loss to the Niners, and reports are that Kansas City?s practices were much more spirited this week. I think that this will translate into a much-improved performance by KC in this game. They also have a powerful pre-season trend in their corner, as home favorites coming off of a game where they scored 7 points or less and allowed 24 points or more are now 17-5, 77.3% ATS. This angle makes perfect sense in these exhibition games, as the home team wants to redeem themselves off of a poor performance, and wanting it more is the key to winning these games. The Vikings played very sloppily in their 16-14 loss to a nondescript Jacksonville team last week, and they have had a history of holding back in the pre season under Coach Green. They figure to play this one close to the vest as well, as they do not want to tip their hand for a regular season meeting with Kansas City in December.
