Probably the first time I have ever seen him make a real adjustment in a tourney game. Wisconsin is not that good a team, but it is the worst kind of team for Roy to face -

to your point about 'losers', i think theres something to be said for that. sometimes, a losing culture breeds inconsistency even when the team finally breaks through. im not trying to compare buffalo to carolina, but its the same thing. buffalo was garbage for so many years. now theyre a solid team with lots of expectations. but there were many times when they inexplicably went through lapses and didnt finish games out (of course most notably the mac championship game up 19 with 15:00 left). i know jawad has seen the worst of times at carolina and now hes got a chance to play for a title. but i think you make a valid point there.

agreed, i think it's fair to say it goes like that in all sports. The opposite would be a team like duke. They won way more games this season because those kids are winners. They have the intangible, K instills it in them, so they win some games they probably shouldn't because they believe. This Carolina team, even when up i think still has flashbacks, somehow in their subconscious that's built in them. And yes good comparison to buffalo i watched that game they played as the heels did down the stretch.

See to me Illinois has "it". Doesn't mean they will win it all, but they have the winners look in their eyes. They've had it all year.

In the beginning of the game Nova was playing "GREAT." That is very very important for a team who is 10pt underdogs and missing their 2nd or maybe 3rd best player. It gave Nova room for error AND confidence. UNC shot and played poorly in 1h yet trailed by 4pts.

Foye made 4 of his first 5 shots. Thats huge!
--ended up shooting 9-21 and scoring 28pts. His average is 15ppg. Thats HUGE game for him.

K. Lowry shot 7-10 and scored 18 pts. He averages 8ppg. Thats HUGE game for him.

A. Ray had bad game.

Rest of Nova team pretty much hit their averages give or take.

As for UNC....

R. Felton 4-12
J. Manuel 1-4
J. Williams 1-4
R. McCants 3-9

All 4 play starters minutes. All 4 shot a combined 10-29 = 34%

More importantly, they all played POOR, should I say, PISS POOR in the 1h. That gave Villanova life and confidence. I should maybe take back my words and say Nova played great 1h and UNC played poor 1h. 2h was different.

It's hard to figure out...

Tar Heels have too many "individuals" (with talent) who want to play on the next level, and are missing the "team concept" that is portrayed in teams like Michigan State & Louisville.

Wisconsin has many "individuals" who want to play on the college level (they get the team concept) and probably won't have the talent to play on the next level.
